Just an FYI: Maxx $199 @ Verizon

Great, I just ordered one on Monday (over the phone) and haven't even received it yet. Will they give the difference in price for something like that if I call them?

I doubt it. I just called them and tried myself. i ordered mine last Wednesday. She told me I would have to return the phone to a corporate store then order a new phone online to get the online pricing and the online site isn't shipping till March 12th now.

Kind of would be a waste for me. I would have to go almost 3 weeks to get another one. I'm not sure why they cant just adjust the price but that is what they told me.

I personally can't go that long without a phone so I will have to pass on their idea.

I also called and asked for that price but no go as it was a limited one day online sale only. I did get the nice rep to give me a $40 credit for my troubles. Besides, I got the phone for free with rebates and such, so no complaints here...

Arrrgh! My upgrade eligibility is tomorrow and I get paid on Friday.

You are actually one of the lucky ones then. I wish I would have waited another week.. :-(

Oh well you win some, you lose some I guess. It just isn't worth the hassle to save the money especially when $35 of it goes to Verizon anyway for re-stocking not to mention I have to wait three weeks to have another phone. That just won't happen. They figure out a way to screw you one way or the other.

Just called 611 and talked to the nicest lady! I ordered my phone exactly 14 days ago (my last day of the return window) and asked her about a $100 credit for the difference or if I'd have to return the phone and rebuy. She put me on hold for a minute, and came back with the awesome news that she would be instantly crediting my account with $100 (to which the phone was charged to, I haven't even paid for it yet). So pleased with Verizon right now!

Just call around til you get someone who sounds friendly.

I ordered mine online today and it said would ship by 3/12. Later I got an email saying mine was shipped, and it will be delivered on Friday. So not sure about the 3/12 date on the site.

I just tried again and this wasn't flying with them. The said to me they can't price match the online price and I would have to return the phone and order one online to get the $100 back.

I originally ordered mine over the phone as where you probably ordered yours online and that is why they are giving you the credit. I have tried calling twice today and they immediately told me they can't do this. Oh well.

Nope, I ordered mine over the phone as well (telesales). It's all dependent on who you get really, be careful that people aren't leaving notes on your accounts every time you call though. If anything, ask to speak to a supervisor/higher up. The lady I got was awesome, she said she's been there for 8 years or something so what she wants she gets, and said I was very pleasant so she'd love to help me and she got that setup for me within minutes.

Just happened to go to their site today and see that the Razor Maxx is now $199. Just an fyi for anyone on the fence about getting on board.:D

Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered my MAXX for $199.99. I spoke to a very friendly Verizon rep to order over the phone and she couldn't place the order for the promo price of $199.99 but said that it might ship sooner than March 12.

Yes, getting a rep to give you credit is very YMMV. Good luck though!

But first level is moot, just ask for second level which is a real tech.

After that explain the situation nicely and if they can't, demand to speak to someone else. If they say "supervisor is busy", then say, yeah, a supervisor would be nice, and I'll hold.

I got an epic credit on the whole SGN update thing myself, to the tune of 2 months of credit, added in got a ticket in with Motorola on another phone, etc.....

just be nice, not demanding. This 4g thing can be annoying.

Good thing you ordered it yesterday as they are now $249.

Now for an update to my earlier debacle...

I called Verizon for the third and final time this morning and this time I asked to speak to a supervisor. The guy asked me why and I explained. The more I talked about it the more frustrated I became. He then put me on hold. Came back on for a second and asked which store I bought the phone from, I said I called and ordered it. He then put me back on hold.

About 2 minutes later he came back on, he said they were going to credit me $200 to my account. I was shocked! I said thank you very much. He then told me that sometimes you have to push a little to get anywhere. He did indeed tell me that they were able to do it and that the previous two women I spoke too I must have not pushed the issue enough.

The whole time I was thinking while I was talking to him that all I wanted was the $100 credit and he gave me a $200 credit?? I didn't bother asking after that. I am just happy that I was able to get a positive resolution.

So the lesson for today and any other day when dealing with Verizon is: Persistence pays!!!!

I am happy as hell right now!

I just got my Razr Maxx for $99 WooooHooo!

I used this to go to Best Buy and get it there with their price match. I signed up a few weeks ago for a $50 gift card promo (if you buy from them, they give you a $50 gift card back, but the time to sign up has passed). So I got it for $200, plus they gave me a gift card. It should be arriving at my doorstep tomorrow! The guy at Best Buy couldn't believe the deal I was getting and in his words "You are winning so much right now" :)
