Preview of Notification Sounds

Ok but how? When I go into Settings, then Sound & Display, then Notification Sound I see a list of 25 sound names (starting with Ascend and ending with Zing). If I click on any one of them, the radio button turns green indicating that's my selection but no sound plays... pressing the "menu" button at that point does nothing and the only two options are OK and Cancel. Sure, when a notification comes in the sound is different but I'd like to hear what the sounds are when I'm trying to make a selection. That's what I'm after.

Thanks.

The sound should play ... just double checked on mine. Make sure you have the volume turned up for notifications.

Yeah that's weird, it should play a preview when you click on the sound in the list. When you have the list up, you should also be able to press the volume rocker up (at least that's what I do in the Alarm Clock) to check the volume. If you still can't hear the sounds, that's kinda weird... no idea what the problem would be...

click on the same sound selection a second time

This. Tap once to select, tap again to preview.

Also, in the Alarm Clock, when you're selecting the alarm sound, while you're in the dialog, the volume keys change the volume of the alarm.

I think that should be a little more obvious because it's easy to leave the alarm volume low enough that you won't wake up, or whatever.

Check your 'media volume' there is a separate volume for it. Easy way is play a song of video and then press the volume up. Or check in your settings for media volume.

I figured it out the hard way ...... playing around with it, trying to make something work.
On kind of a related note to one of the above posts, I use the Quick Setting app, and it allows you to expand (by clicking on it) the Volume control setting, so that you can adjust Media, Alarm, Notification, Phone volume, and Ringer volume, all in one quick easy spot (instead of going into different settings to adjust each). It also has a spot to turn on/off the ringer, and to turn on/off Mobile Data (great for those of us who sit in signal- challenged areas where it sucks our battery, while searching for 3G signal).

Its a great app, and very practical.

Thank you, this is almost exactly what I have been looking for.
