Help FM Radio?

Is there an FM radio on the Nexus or am I just having a blonde moment? I can't find it.

Just download tunein or one of the other apps as i believe the phone does not have one.

No FM radio on the CDMA Gnexus either. Try spirit FM free
on the Android market.

Thanks for the replies, I have to say that I'm shocked that there is no FM radio, I just took it for granted that there would be one.
So I guess any radio apps will be over the internet play which is pretty bad if I'm abroad or not at home!

I think you will find FM radio's on the phone will be going away, just my totally unscientific gut feeling based on nothing. There are apps that does it just fine by playing over the net that why should manufactures waste precious space with radio capabilities.

Did any of the big three that just came out have it? (Rezound, Razr, Gnex)

My Bionic had one but you had to side load the app. I tried it when I first got the Nexus and it didn't do anything.
I second the recommendation for Tunein. Not sure why it's going away, nice to have the option when you don't have cell service or don't want to use data.

Agreed, especially considering unlimited data is going away with most carriers.

Installed this and it doesnt work. Developer says that this app will most likely Never work on the GNex.

Every fall, I work all season on a small live football broadcast. The guy that runs it uses a small range FM transmitter for the announcers on the field to hear what's going on/ or for people to listen to. The FM radio on my DX really came in handy for this when I was producing and didn't have a headset on.

While I can understand there are times when one is handy. I think they are just becoming a "niche" item most people never use/touch.

My Droid Incredible had one. I think I used it once, just to play with it.

Yeah especially when every little bit of space counts, i'd rather use the space for a bigger battery/some other cool hardware rather than a radio receiver

I had hoped to use it at my local drive in movie where they transmit the movie audio over fm and I could have used my Rocketfish bluetooth headset.

You are right though, about most people not having a use for it.
