Help Trouble syncing music playlists onto Rezound

I dragged and dropped all the mp3 files I liked into the main directory of my SD card. I also dropped the playlists that I made in iTunes into the playlists folder and main directory in every export format from iTunes (txt, m3u, xml) but they won't show up in my Rezound's audio player. It worked before but I deleted the old ones to put in the new ones. I DON'T use double twist because it doesn't support SD card storage.

I have always used iSyncr with the WiFi add-on ($ for both thru Market). It has worked flawlessly for me. The songs stay on the SD card until I take them off. I have made ringtones and transferred them onto my Rezound thru iTunes as well. I don't know if you've tried iSyncr or not. If you have any questions about how to use it, I would be more than happy to help out.

I am having this problem. I simply copy my music and playlists from my pc to my phone. They should up in astro.

Then after I open up the stop music app under the playlists I see the program doing the spinning circle reading action. Then after it stops it just randomly deletes playlists.

This has happened numerous times.

I have had no problems at all so here is what I do.

All my music is stored on my computer under "my music" and managed by windows media player regardless where I got it from; and this includes iTunes, Amazon, other on-line sources, and ripped cd's..

I move all the music to a sync list in media player.
Then make sure that the SD card on the phone is the sync target and then hit Sync.

On my SD card I have created a folder called "music" and all the individual album folders go into this folder directly from the sync.

The phone recognizes them instantly.

Now I know this is simple but maybe one of these steps was missing from your process. My wife just put all her music onto the main directory on the SD card and she had the same problem you all are experiencing. I re-did it using the approach above and she had instant access.

In the past we did have similar problems but the cause was a phone hardware issue so you may check that as well.

I have used a similar process as this. It works but what I have also had is my playlists disappearing or being deleted randomly from my SD card. In some bad cases I have even had the music not show up in the various music players I have tried. Sometimes the music shows up again, but normally once the playlists disappear they are gone for good. I have had to re-gen my playlists several times. Makes me think that the Rezound doesn't play well with some or all SD cards.

SD Cards are usually pretty stable. Have you checked your installed apps? I have had problems where a downloaded app took over and messed up the storage and access to other files. Go to menu>settings>applications>manage apps and do some research on which downloaded ones have significant hardware, software or storage permissions.

Running that card tool helped.

However, now I'm on a 32 GB Class 10 MicroSD card and things are running beautifully. I wonder if this problem is more the card then the phone.

I have only used the drag and drop method to load music. When you say sync, are you connected using htc sync or no? I created the folder and all but dont use the htc sync software and may need to download it for this option?

I have found a great little utility in the market that will backup your playlists, including those in the HTC Sense music player.
It is called JS Backup. I don't use it for anything else than playlist backup (although it has options for backing up all sorts of stuff).
The one thing I hate is having to recreate my playlists. I have all my music on my SD card (I don't use any sync software - just copy new songs to SD card when I want).

The app DOES NOT need root permission and it just works, oh, and it is free! (just keep in mind that the backup file gets stored on /SDCARD, not to /SDCARD-EXT)

Last time I swithced phones (DINC -> Rezound) I spent over 3 hours re-creating my playlists (I am very anal retentive when it comes to them). I had to have my Rezound exchanged 3 days after I got it and used this. Worked like a charm!
