What's a worthy replacement?

Yeah read it on Phandroid this morning.

Xperia s was released too. Apparently its rooted now
Didn't take long :)

Like the 720p in 4.3" screen, but it also has a fixed battery (though at least 32GB storage, unlike the One S - damn you HTC ). Camera samples on phonearena weren't bad - good detail, though over-processed (but phones not challenging SLRs yet isn't news :)). Wait until I see one in the flesh.

I've decided that the best way of selling an HTC One X to me is to make me play with the Galaxy Note for a while! I tried out a Galaxy Nexus and a Sensation XL today, and although there's only a couple of mm difference between them the GNex felt manageable to me after I'd been using the XL ;)

Still got 2 month left here. Dual core although it sounds easily enough, just.pales next to quad though :(

Said that 2min ago to the guy in white Rose.
Noticed two things when I was playing with the Xperia S.
Menu button when the camera was open did nothing the first 4 times I pressed it, on the 5th or 6th the camera menu finally opened.
Also... It stuttered while opening the camera at one point.

Not filling me full of hope.
Maybe it's because it was only 10% battery left? Which soon dropped to 5 in no time.
Hmmm.

I'm currently looking at a few as I can upgrade from April. My possibles are the Xperia S, the HTC One X, the Samsung Galaxy S3, and the Samsung Note.

Saw the Note in the flesh yesterday and liked it a lot, but it does seem a bit too big if I'm honest, so that is probably my fourth choice.

I like the HTC One X as I do like my Desire, and I confess I've no plans to root or flash my next phone (rooted my Desire, tried a custom ROM, didn't like it, went back to Sense) so the fixed battery doesn't really bother me, and I've no intention of putting music or videos on my phone so the storage space is fine. It does look a bit "meh" though, design-wise, and I want to read some reviews of it.

As for the Sony, the two best phones I've ever had were Sony Ericsson handsets (a K800 and a C905) so that one is calling out to me, and as well as looking quite smart I've read a couple of great reviews of it. The fact that it is dual core doesn't really bother me as I use my phone for calls, texts, and bits of e.g. browsing and Twitter, so I won't be using it for games or media.

Finally, the Galaxy S3 is the one I'm really looking forward to seeing, so hopefully we'll get a glimpse of that one before long.

Ultimately it will boil down to two key things for me: do I like the look of it when I see it for real, and how much will it cost to upgrade.

My deciding factors are: -

1. Storage. Would prefer an SD card slot.
2. Hardware.
3. Build quality.
4. Camera. Do use my Desire one ALOT.
5. Price.
6. Battery size.

Unless something amazing comes along, I'm still planning on the 1X, or SGS3.

Though some of the new LG ones look quite good.

Anyone any experience with LG?
My friend has exteremely bad experiences with LG. Lack of updates, bad build quality, etc.

Do you mean tried an aosp Rom? Plenty of sense custom roms.

I'll definitely be rooting. Stock kernels leak efficiency as custom kernels so easily show.

Hmmm, i wonder.
Oh btw the guy in phones4U said the HTC one series might be out around April or May, though at a push end of this month because they are racing against LG to deliver the first quad core phone.

He says that is based on "reliable" rumors.

But.. It's just rumors. He could be talking rubbish, i don't know.
