close music player

When I Open the music player (whatever one came with hero) and play music...pushing back doesn't make the music stop. it just closes out of app but continues to play music. the only way to stop the music is to push pause. there is no way to just simply say "stop running this app now" or close it? i've been using advanced task killer to close it, but im thinking there has to be another way besides that and pushing pause.

sorry if that was confusing....

Mine turns on with my bluetooth.

mine turned on when i plugged an auxiliary cable into the headphone jack to listen to pandora thru my car stereo! I started pandora expecting to hear something and all of a sudden i hear what I know for sure is my own music stored in the memory card blipping and skipping and playing chunks of random songs. So i closed it with task killer but it kept restarting!!!! Even after i closed it and the music stopped playing it still showed the controls on the lock screen as if the app was running but it wasn't. Is this something with Fresh Rom cuz I never had this issue with stock rom...

Hey guys,

I have an app in the market I just put up called bTunes Music Player. I like apps that allow me to completely exit and so I included the option in my player. Check it out and let me know what you think. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Hey. First off, I want to say, for the 10 minutes I've been using your app, I am VERY impressed. EVERY other music replacement app I've tried simply isn't very good at all. They all are missing some VERY important feature and I end up just using the stock app. The stock app (despite it's shortcomings, which it has a lot of) is preferable to the other ones I've tried before. However, after installing your app, I think this one may just be the one to make me switch from the stock player :) The fact of the matter is, I was trying to make the switch from my iPod Touch + Phone combo, to Droid, and one of my biggest fears was the Droid's music player. The fact that this player resembles the iPod music player so much (superficially and functionally) makes it very appealing to me.
I have a few suggestions though.

1) Do you plan on ever making a widget for use with the player? I know a lot of other music apps have widgets, so people can have one on their homescreen to quickly start playback. I know I would definitely make use of it if you decide to make a widget.

2) I notice that your app is not reading my currently created playlists. There have been other music playing apps in the marketplace that were able to read my playlists that I created with the default music player app. Any chance of default playlist support?

3) Personally, I just can't stand the icon. Now this isn't enough to make me stop using the app, by a long shot, but I'm sure there are other people who agree with me. Any chance you could make the icon a simple music note?

1) I do plan on making a widget. I have a lot of requests coming in daily and I am trying to prioritize them and implement them as soon as I can.

2) I would like to be able to import the stock music app playlists but have not found a way to do it. I am still researching how I can do this. I haven't been able to find where the stock music player stores the playlists and if it is available for 3rd party apps. If, like you say, other apps have done it then there obviously is a way to do it.

3) I am not attached to the current icon and am willing to change it if other people would like something simpler.

1) Awesome!

2) MixZing is one player that does this. I'm pretty sure I've come across a few more but can't think of any right now. If you could somehow implement an easier/faster way to add to a playlist, that would be great by the way. Currently it's quite a hassle to make a music playlist on Android.

3) Awesome!

I also have another suggestion. Some music players (including the stock one) are made so that when headphones are unplugged from the device, playback will automatically pause. One (can't remember the name, but there is at least one) even goes as far as resuming the music if headphones are plugged back in. I think this is a very important feature for any music player. I know a lot of people expect playback to stop when they unplug their headphones. I personally would like it if music resumes when headphones are plugged back in too, but I think some people would prefer that it not resume. Perhaps you could implement the feature to pause playback when headphones are unplugged, and have an optional feature under settings for those who want it to resume when headphones are plugged back in? I understand that you are prioritizing requests, and I hope I am not seeming pushy or anything! If I am, please let me know :)

i have not tried your app yet.. but plan to soon.

I have been looking for a music player that has good Playlist edit/create function. None on the market that i can find.. has a good function here. They are missing or has very basic. example: I have a lot of mp3s and i would like an editor that can and/delete multiple files, without having to restart the list and scroll back down. also to hear the file before adding.. and see the full name and details.

Q: since there are no apps that can do this.. is it not possible?

Thanks

It is possible to do. I have an app on the market right now called bTunes which supports some of the functionality you want. You can select multiple items at a time and you can even perform multiple searches and keep checking items off until you are ready to add all items checked to a new/existing playlist. You can even check off an artist or album and bTunes will add all songs under them to the playlist.

As of right now you cannot easily start playing one of the items you have checked to see if you want it but that is a good idea and I will put it on my to do list.

I have a CDMA Hero...
I tried to look for your app on the market. I could not find it. I even rebooted the phone.. to see if that would help.

is there any way to close your music player without just pausing it or using a task killer? thanks
The easiest way to close Music Player, or any other running app is to do it through TASK MANAGER. The easiest way to do THAT is to create a task manager SHORTCUT on your home screen. As always, LONG PRESS on home screen and select SHORTCUTS, the APPLICATIONS, the TASK MANAGER. I use the task manager very frequently. You'll wonder how you lived...:))

Only normal way is to use
The "back" button to exit.

That should close most applications.

Pressing pause and then pressing back seems to be a lot easier than opening a task killer and then selecting the music app and then closing it. If you ask me, task killers are only necessary if you have an app that crashes and won't close. It's easier than restarting the phone.

That is what I do is use advinced task killer to stop music. Task killer already selects music app to kill it.

I don't use advanced killer app to save memory or battery as we first thought, but I do use it to close things that are not obvious to close like th music app.

I would love to be able to turn it off, I never use it and it auto-plays when I get into my truck which causes lag problems.
