Droid Razr Maxx AMAZING Battery Life? HAHAHA Yeah right. It's HORRIBLE.

Idk where all this "OMG INCREDIBLE AMAZING BATTERY LIFE" is coming from.. i've used my phone for about 4 hours and it's at like 70 or 80 percent. I barely even used my phone either.

I have to charge it the next day or so. I'm incredibly disappointed. I've been hearing so many good reviews about battery that I got it, and the battery life wasn't what i was expecting. I mean, come on... it needs to get at least 3 days of battery life. JUST 3 days! Or maybe my phone just has bad battery. Seriously, this phone sucks. Well, the battery does. It's pissing me off.

Why does it need to get 3 days of battery life? how is that necessary? Youre upset that you can ONLY get 2 DAYS of use off a charge from a device that has 5 different radios, a processor that would have Powered a desktop PC not that long ago, and a large, well lit screen. You're expectations are off. Just charge it every night and enjoy the fact that whatever you do with the phone, it won't run out of juice on you when you need/want it.

And if you just got the phone, the battery isn't calibrated yet. The battery life should improve after a couple of charging/discharging cycles (you can speed that process up by letting it drain completely, then letting it charge completely).

Oh, and horrendous battery life for a smartphone is about 3 hours, not 48.

I agree I use the crap out of this phone cuz its new.i'm killing the battery pretty quick but its 4g and its got a beautiful screen. I streamed Netflix at the airport today faster on 4g than on the wifi! Battery Is good but you can't easily replace it when out gets old :( i'm impressed with the Battery. When I chill out I can see it lasting all day with all the options on maybe 2 with limited options like GPS off and notifications off.

Wife and I both used our Maxx's for the first time today. Well actually opened box last night and they were both about 40% charged. Used them for about 4 hours nonstop and they were down to 5%. Put on charger overnight and unplugged at 730am today. Her phone powered off at 830pm(13 hours) and mine was at 5% at 1130pm (16 hours). Now it is definitely better than my HTC incredible which would be dead by 4pm, but i will reserve my judgement for a later date after I get more than 1 charge/discharge cycle. I would love to get 1 FULL day without worrying about battery. She was unable to take any pics or video at the gymnastics meet tonight because her phone was dead.

I love my battery life! Kicks the crap out of my buddys Iphone on Verizon! I used it all day yesterday, used GPS for about 30 miles, played on 4g all day, downloaded a ton of apps. played on the web, talked on the phone. and when I got home at 11PM it was at 30%. I would of NEVER had that with any smart phone

In order to condition my battery, I'm trying to fully drain it so I can recharge it again. I've been streaming videos constantly for the past few hours, on my old LG Ally, it would have died after 4 hours, on this phone, it only lost 20% battery.

Smartphones have a lot going on and have never had good battery life, until the Maxx. All I need is a phone to get me through the day, because I can charge every night while I'm sleeping, there is no need to go days without charge.

Dude, I would love to know what you are basing your comparisons on. A standard cell phone? Before I got my first smartphone (a BB Storm), my standard cell phone could last 3-4 days on a charge. Modern smartphones, especially those on the 4G network, devour battery power.

With my DRM, I can get anywhere from 20 to 30 hours between charges, depending on what I am doing with it. Compared to standard cell phones, that sucks. Compared to other smartphones (and other smartphones I have owned), there isn't one out there today that has a longer battery life. If this is unacceptable to you, you either have unrealistic expectations, or don't understand exactly how much your 4G phone is doing and is capable of.

I'm having great battery life and I'm on my second charging/discharging cycle I guess will get better...probably your expectations are too high
PS. I tried to upload some screenshots o was unable anyway I'm on around 71-75 % with over 6 hours and display a little over 2 hours I think is a great battery life

I was thinking the same thing, no trying go offend the OP but people get higher expectations coming from a non smartphone is like the reviews I love see people leaving a excellent review on smartphone when they say "its my first smartphone and I'm happy" well the point is probably this is the case of the OP just saying

Sorry for double posting

Be aware that if you're not using a 3rd party battery program then you're not seeing the true percentage. The stock one from Moto only registers in 10% increments, so you could be at 99% and the phone will show 90%.

Ninja'd

I think this info is kind of wrong or at least in my understanding if phone show 90% really is between 81-90 % when shows 100% is between 91-100 I might be wrong

First thing in the morning I'm on my phone about that long, checking overnite emails, a call perhaps and some light browsing. After an hour or so of pretty constant use I'm down around 10% as well. I think it is pretty normal for steady usage. I don't see a problem. I use a 1% increment battery 3rd party app also and can see it drop 1% at a time. If your going to be on constantly then yes , you will not get more than around 10%/hour. But geez, who sits on their phone all day? Gotta be other stuff to do,, yes?

I should also point out that the battery probably is almost never at 100% when it comes off the charger. When the phone reachs full charge, the charging circuit turns off, and the battery drains. After the charge drops below a certain level the charging circuit turns back on. So the phone might only have 95% (or less) charge when you pull it off the charger. So you could have only lost 5% battery and be below 95% charged.

Not to mention that if you're battery hasn't been calibrated yet, your battery gauge is pretty speculative (especially on the top end).
