Root setCPU Active/Refresh interval

Thats just the setting for how often the widget updates, it will check every 5 seconds to every 240 seconds depending on how close you want it to show "real" time. I dont see a need for it to constantly update because i dont monitor it that closely, so i use the largest time interval if at all...passive wont display current cpu speed.

How bad does the active refresh on the widget kill the battery? on my phone I set it to passive.. on my tablet I have it on 10 minutes.. I dont want to kill battery life on my phone but if I can use that to see current frequency, that would be great...

If you're using it to gague a new kernel, leave it set at 5 seconds, it won't hurt your battery too bad. If you're just using it for your daily I'd tone it back a bit. It won't hog up the battery, but it is pulling a little bit of current you can be using for other things. Just my .02 :)

I've never bothered with the widget. If I want to know what the CPU speed is at I'll simply open up the app and check.

Much more important/informative information is the pie graph that tells you the percentages of where your CPU has been throughout the day.

+1 ;)

It's important to keep an eye on this every so often, if you're on a daily driver. If you're on a new kernel / rom, check this often to be sure things are kosher. :)

Speaking of SetCPU, I am NOT a fan of the new update at all. I opened it up to check it out, and while trying to change the clock speeds, it kind of flings through the frequencies now...well I was just trying to scale up from 768 to 998 and it flung through all the speeds and landed on whatever the max was and caused a reboot before I even knew what was going on. Luckily it was fine on reboot as it seemed to have saved my previous setting, but it's just something I'd rather not worry about when there are so many alternatives out there.
