Hello,
I have a HTC wildfire phone and even though i do enjoy it i find it to be very very slow and i have tried multiple things such as keeping my text messages to a maximum of 20 before deleting. Trying to delete unnesesary apps and junk off my phone. But it still runs slow, so i have joined this android forum seeking help.

I can purchase a new phone an iphone 4 or HTC desire but i like my HTC wildfire and i enjoy the android operating system, the Wildfire's camera is amazing and the only thing i want to be able to do is make it faster.

My question is:
Will upgrading my SD card make the phone run faster?

Thank you:D

I don't think a bigger SD card would make any difference to speed, all it would do is give you more space to store files - music, pictures, etc. The Wildfire doesn't have FroYo yet, so I don't think you can put Apps on the SD card. All you can do is make sure you haven't got lots of stuff running in the background.

If you like the Wildfire then you'll love the Desire. It's better in every way, the only drawback for some is that it's bigger too.

Theres not much you are going to be able to do to increase the performance, short of rooting, flashing a custom rom with an overclock kernel and overclocking it.

Theres not much for the wildfire in teh way of custom roms though.

If you have the possibility of getting the desire, do it.

There is a thing called unrevoked.com it can root your device so you can overclock it, i would try that

Hi all, I am getting the message low on space in my notifications and the little silver disc at the top of the main screen. It's driving me mad as I can't get rid of it not only that but I have no idea what is causing it. I am close to doing a factory reset but will try anything else first. Recently the audible sound for key strokes stopped working as did sounds for screen lock. Haptic feedback is working even though I haven't got it enabled lol. Also my Gmail has stopped showing I have emails but I can access my email through the menu option and notifications. Any ideas what has happened and should I do a reset. Will a reset wipe my sim? I understand it won't but just making sure as I don't want to lose my Phone Numbers. I was told on another forum to delete all trash from my trash folder to make space. i did that but the Low on space message is still showing. Incidentally the problem with Gmail not showing I have emails to be read started after I deleted all my trash. Any ideas?

Sorry just realised this is a reply rather than a new thread. Can mods delete this please.

ok ive got it rooted and s-off... how do overclock?

Use the link here

At number 1) you will find 3 applications that let you overclock your device
When you install and open them (providing you have the SuperUser application), a little pop-up will appear asking for your permission to grant that application you've just installed root permissions, just select yes.

There should be some slide bars (SetCPU & CPU tuner) or a box (CPU Control lite) slide the bar to increase or decrease your processing speed or tap the box and pick your processing speed and select 'confirm'

Dont change your processing speed to a high voltage immediately, slowly increase it every few hours - Basically dont do this: 528MHz -> 748MHz (that may potentially cause problems for your device)

P.s. - If you have a (HTC) Sense ROM and you cant overclock or the values arent sticking, then you might have to disable perflock (SetCPU is teh only one to my knowledge that can do that)
