Updated April 02: HD Video Review of ICS ROMS for A500 - Taboonay,Icyliscious and Lightspeed

Great. Can't wait to try something like this.

Definitely like the quick screenshoot app, and bypassing the desktop from lockscreen to go straight to browser or email.

Very cool.

Any links on where or how to do this ourselves ?

Getting sick of waiting on Acer to update the tablet. :(

You need root for this...

To Root:
(HD) Root Your Acer Iconia A500/A501 from Honeycomb 3.2/3.2.1 + ClockWorkRecovery - Cursed4Eva - YouTube

Once you have root, the link to the ROM is in the description on youtube, download that

After that follow this tut to flash it...
(HD) Install Custom ROMs on Acer Iconia A500/A501 - Cursed4Eva - YouTube
enjoy ICS :D

As for the wait, ya it sucks.. a500 is not the focus now :(
should be done by the end of april (max)

the only thing i'm worried about is since i got the 3g version (a501) with Rogers... i'm afraid they don't release it on time...

Fingers crossed for the release :)

The "Acer ring", quick screenshot and unlock straight to app has all been in the stock honeycomb 3.2.1 on the Acer A200 since end of last year.

I like the look of swipe to close notifications and apps, but I wonder if it might be a pain to use, accidentally closing them when you actually wanted to activate them.

The swiping works good, as in the tablet can differentiate between a tap and a swipe well... juz wanted to let you know in case it matters :)

Cursed4Eva I watched both videos, nicely done. I have a couple quick questions.

1) It looked like Taboonay beat Lightspeed in your Quadrant tests by something like 600 points. When you were testing these roms did you feel like Taboonay was smoother/faster?

2) Did the issues/bugs you have with lightspeed such as the broken facelock work in taboonay?

I was leaning towards lightspeed because I thought it being more slimmed down would make it faster. But after watching your video reviews it looks like taboonay tests as fast in quad and you didn't say anything in your review that said it's facelock didn't work.
