T-Mobile G1, got it today! A few questions about your experience

So I pre-ordered online and got the 'Your upgrade is being processed.' page. :D I was beyond excited. However, I never got an email confirmation with tracking or anything. So I went through the process again. And again. After that, and no confirmation, I gave up. To my surprise I'm staring at my G1 box right now!

But according to my online T-Mobile account, I'm not being charged, nor have my messaging and data plans been upgraded to the G1 plan. Anyone, have your plans online changed yet? Does it show a bill for the phone? Thank you so much.

Ok, so the dilemma is, do you call T-mobile and let them know you got the goods and have not been charged so you can get the G3 Service, or do you not say anything for awhile, let the dust settle and then you call to just pay for the service because you bought it elsewhere??? wow, the possibilities...LOL

Haha, exactly. I don't mind so much that I don't have 3G, as Tucson doesn't have it here yet.

But I'm glad I can keep paying $6 for T-MobileWeb and $15 for Messaging than whatever the $35 plan they would like me to pay :cool:

I'm in Tempe and I got my phone yesterday and my plan and charge for the phone have not shown up. I'm confident it will appear eventually. I just paid my bill right before the phone shipped, so it's likely that it's just not showing up because it's so early in my billing cycle.

Who knows. I'm very happy to just have my G1 right now :)
So basically no one right now has been billed the cost of the G1?

And I'd like to add, I'm not really satisfied in their delivery method. No signature confirmation? That's just insane.

I had to have signature confirmation. They wouldn't leave it, I had to go pick it up because it required a signature and I didn't want to wait to see if they'd reroute to my office.

Anyone else having a problem with the Maps app not locating you?


I had to have signature confirmation. They wouldn't leave it, I had to go pick it up because it required a signature and I didn't want to wait to see if they'd reroute to my office.

Hmm, strange. My brother picked up for me, just sitting at the front door step.

Anyone else reading, have your data and text plans been upgraded to the G1 plan? Let me know, thanks.

You won't be charged until the next billing cycle. I already confirmed this with 3 different Billing reps, 1 of which was a shift manager. If your billing cycle is say ... the 23rd thru the 22nd, which would make your bill due the 19th, and you ordered the phone on Oct. 15th...you won't see it until you get your bill from October. Meaning, when you get the bill that usually arrives the first week of the month. Trust me, they didn't forget to bill you.

Also, if you don't update to your G1 data plan, there's a good chance you could run into some issues. I suggest calling them and having it activated.

I re-read this and realized it was a bit hard to understand. Needless to say, if you're trying to view your bill online, and you have the above mentioned billing cycle, you won't see it online until approximately a week after the end of your billing cycle, or on the next mailed billing statement. It'll be there, don't worry.
