can u guys please explain to me step by step directions how to update my Droid Eris to 2.1, im a total noob when it comes this

Use Firefox to download it. Safari sometimes does weird things to compressed files.

Plz help... I dwnld the zip file Caddyman gave and also one from mediafire, but when I try to unzipped it says oops it can't open.

DO NOT try to open the .zip file. Now you have to redownload the file cause you broke the sig.
Download, move the file to you sd card, and restart the phone holding volume down

Used this, updated, finally sucked it up
