Hi.. I am new to this forum but, I have searched every thread and didn't hit what I was looking for.

My apps. are stored on the SD card, so no problem there. But whenever I go online/use my apps. their data is stored on my phone's Internal memory rather than on SD card, where the apps. are installed.
This is eating up all my internal memory.. and I have to keep clearing the data from settings menu.

Can someone please guide me, how to keep the data on SD card.
Thankx.

Hello i found a lot of information that could help you i hope it does help and not confuse you take the time to read this all and good luck i do not have a gio phone and do not know much in the ways to help you myself i did however copy other forum members ideas and ways to help theirselves so please do not think i said this or you have to do it this way just trying to help enjoy.

You cant move files to/from the internal storage. You can only access the sd-card. Your internal memory is only used for applications and internet cache. To free up some of this memory you need to uninstall apps or move them to the sd-card via the settings>applications>manage applications.

you see
Android is a specialized type of Linux
In linux...there is an almighty user called ROOT...this user has all the privileges to the system...

so rooting your android phone is just the process of getting supreme privileges to your phone which the manufacture doesnt allow otherwise...

the thing you are talking about(making another partition and installing apps on that)
there is something called A2SD Darktremor

first thing...you need to root

then...follow this tutorial...make sure you use a card reader and not your phone

Quote:
1. Insert the memory card in card reader (don't use phone for partition making)
2. Open the "Partition Wizard"
3.Move/Resize Right-click on SDCard and choose Move / Resize
4.Select the partition size ((Don't have to format complete card just resize)
5.Confirm your choice to "OK"
6.Right-click on the unpartitioned space
7.Click "Create"
8. A warning message appears, click "Yes"
9.Choose "Create as Primary"
10.Patrition type Ext2
11.Cluster size 4Kb Cluster size 4Kb
12.click "Ok"
13.click "Apply"
14.Finish
15.Now you can insert the card into the phone
and to enable Darktremor A2SD

if you need more help...feel free to PM me

Please do understand...I am not the most knowledgeable about android
what i write might not be 100% correct but ill try my best to provide you with the most accurate information

To begin, download the update.zip file from the link above and copy it to the root of your SD card.
Power the phone off.
Boot into recovery mode by holding the middle button and pressing the power button.
When I powered the phone on holding the middle button. It didn't ask me to select any option but instantly gave me this message:

When you pressed the power+ok button...you entered Recovery Mode

When in recovery mode...you just pressed the ok button...when the option 'reboot system now' was selected...
use the volume buttons to navigate down and select 'apply sdcard:update.zip'
and press the ok button(middle button)

this will root your phone
if it doesnt restart your phone...just navigate to 'reboot system now' and hit ok
