Root [ROM][PORT][ALPHA] MIUIv4 ICS Port | Weekly Update: 2.6.1 | Version: 0.9.0

Wait... Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the ics market was built into the app drawer (as well a the widgets)... And we ain't gots no app drawer.... Hmmmm

Gapps is automatically included in miui. And has nothing to do with app drawer as far as u know. Since miui has no app drawer and never has. I think it's safe to say they aren't dependent on each other or have anything to do with each other

Nonono... Now IM confused... I saw a ics review on YouTube a couple months ago and it showed the market as part of the app drawer... Thus my dilemma... I've been using miui for months and I love it... Just didn't know where they were gonna cram the market... Oh well

In ICS the market is part of the app drawer, yes. BUT it is also in the app drawer like all the other apps. I am sure MIUI has a way to handle it however Xiaomi sees fit. I wouldn't worry about it, there is no way that the market will be left out of that.

Someone's got the radio working on an ideos x6 / Triumph elsewhere but no touchscreen driver.

[rom] miui v4 ics (working one!!!) - xda-developers

Additionally, here is a tip on how to cook up this rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499411

I haven't tried it, but I'm thinking if we use the Miui source code and that from the ICS ROM for our handsets found here as a base?

Thoughts?

Yea I already put this and can confirm its working and touch screen doesnt

Correct, but on the ICS core rom the touchscreen driver does work, so I pm'd Austrie.

I've actually followed the instructions on the guide but admittedly I don't know what I'm doing so it's likely just going to hang my phone. I'll post my colossal fail in a few minutes. :)

Using the ICS 6.9.4 as the base and Miui 2.3.9 nexus 1 image for this test.

Ha... as expected it never made it past the image. I have a lot of reading to do.

On another note, I remember Droidvicious had done an amazing job of porting a hybrid Miui over to the Thunderbolt. He used the base from Galnet which already is up and running on modified Miui 4 for several devices including the Desire S and other Motorola's. Hope this helps piece together some of the material needed to get this going? I wonder if it's possible to take this rom and add our RIL and drivers and run with it. I have a lot of catching up to do, but this has certainly piqued my interest.

Galnet MIUI Scotland | Stable Roms

and here's a link to his current rom running Miui with an ICS framework, that runs beautifully on my former thunderbolt. (I'm thinking the processors might be similar?)
