Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

First of all, you may want to check CM7 Reloaded, which is basically an updated version of TG's ROM (it's in the all things root section of the forums). If you continue to have this battery drain problem, go to [APP] BetterBatteryStats adds battery history back to Gingerbread - xda-developers and download/install the betterbatterystats app. What it does is, among other things, keep track of kernel wakelocks, which prevent the phone from going into deep sleep, which may be your problem. The wakelocks you want to look for are mmc0, mmc1, and mmc2. This is a known CM7 bug that some of us has experienced. Whyzor, the developer working on CM7, is aware of it and has worked on a solution. You will also want to check and make sure you have no rogue apps running in the background. I get about the same signal as you, so unless you're keeping mobile data on, I don't think that's what your problem is.

Regarding juicer, that only deals with your mobile data. You'll still get calls and texts.

Thanks for the CM7-reloaded I had not seen that. I am going to put that on today and then go from there. I have typically not been turning off mobile data but seems I will do that now.

It is so much fun to have a decent phone after my Intercept. :)

this is a stupid question but I'm new to rooting. when downloading CM7, after it's downloaded onto my computer do I move it onto my phone by connecting it with the USB or should I do it with just my sd card and the phone off?

And when im holding the volume and power button, the phone shouldn't be plugged in to anything correct? Just want to make sure I'm doing this right

and with gapps, should I put that into my SD card before or after ive started cm7. and if it's after, how do I put it onto my phone if I'm not supposed to boot it until gapps is installed?

Either or doesn't matter

correct

Put it on when you put cm7 on.

Flash the gapps the same way you do CM7 - by choosing the zip on your SD card. The best time to do it is immediately after you flash the ROM itself - preferably before first boot.

thank you both! So i should put cmw, cm7, and gapps all on my phone at the same time? Or just cmw, install that, reboot, then add cm7 and gapps then install those?

You should boot into download mode (vol- plus power when fully off) and connect to your computer and put CMWR in the mobile partition that should show up and replace the one that is already in the folder. (make sure it's named "recovery" and has a .img extension)

EDIT: I downloaded gapps as well but none of the google apps are on there like google maps.....although it let me sign in with my google account

So this is the current CM7 version to try?
11/19 - vB.08

When I look at MIUI.us and cyanogenmod.com for devices, ... I should download ROMs for the Hauwei Ascend to put on a Triumph? They are the same?

This is not the most current version. You will want to use either Starship, or g60style. The new version of CM7.2.0 will be released soon. We are still working on MMS and it will be released for beta.

First off, I want to start off by saying, thank you all for the work you do on these ROM's. They are leaps above the stock ROM. On to my issue, I used the android email app that was on the stock ROM while my unit was under warranty. The stock email app would work fine 90% of the time. But 10% of the time it would just spin....and no 3g data would appear to transmit. I could fix it by going into airplane mode and back, or restarting the unit.

Tinkerguys ROM does the same thing. The problem is the airplane mode is glitchy, if you go into airplane mode, it doesn't appear to be in that mode till you restart the phone. I am able to fix the issue, but turning on wifi. The emails flow in almost immediately when I turn on wifi.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What is interesting is if the email app is spinning, and no 3g data is being transmitted, I can still go to the internet and 3g turns right on, but it doesn't make the email app work. The internet site loads with no problems. It almost seems like the email app is stuck in it's own loop.

thanks for the feedback!

Mark,

I would suggest using reloading MTDEV-CM7 as we are the current development team for the Triumph and currently manage CM7 (gingerbread), CM9 (ice cream sandwich), and also CM10 (jelly bean). We are also working MUIU v4 (ics). Tickerguy's edition is a great ROM but much has been fixed and resolved in the current version of MTDEV-CM7. You can find out more from our site

(I know this thread is super old and probably no one will respond, but oh well)

First off, I just wanna say this is my absolute favorite ROM out of all the Triumph ROMs (I tried them all). It's just perfect for my needs! Anyway, there's only one problem i've encountered with the final version, which is reboots. I finally narrowed it down to 3 causes:

1) Text while unlocking / double-tapping lock button (fixed by disabling lockscreen)

2) Locking screen when you have voicemail notification (fixed by disabling notifications, or deleting message/notification)

3) Locking screen when you have a text message notification

My main concern is #3, I often lock my screen as I receive a text message which reboots it, and keeps happening every time it locks until I clear the notification or read the text. Just curious if anyone has a fix for this, or if it's just a Triumph problem.

It's not a Triumph problem, and I don't remember having that issue, back when I was running this ROM.
I would highly recommend updating to http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/590069-rom-mtdev-cm7-build-2013-03-03-a.html

I never knew that that ROM was the same thing! I thought I had tried all of them, guess I missed that one. Fixed all my issues (besides voicemail icon lingering, but I think thats Virgin's problem), and added a couple nifty new features. Thanks man! =)
