DIY extended battery case

After searching all over the internet for a case that could be use with the extended battery and have found nothing, I've decided to make one myself. Getting really tired of bring my charger to work just in case.

A few things you'll need

1. OEM LG extended battery cover

2. LG protective case (any would work)

3. Utility knife

4. Masking tape

5. Rotary dremel

6. Wife's nail filer (for that clean look)

After the cuts and trimming, you should have this.

Now mark the back of the protective case with the utility knife

Now put masking tape along the lines so that could see where you'll be cutting with the dremel. After the cut, use the nail filer to trim and smooth out the lines. Final product should look like this.

Now you're done :D

I guess I could turn it into a service or something, it's so d@mn time consuming though. But yea, pm me if your interested in a set. I'm loving my extended battery. Been playing games and watching youtube all day and still 28% to go.

If you only removed the humpback portion then used one of the rubberized covers (without the inner plastic cover part you have), would that work as well? I am considering getting an Esteem and looking at the options.

It is hard to tell if the battery sticks up much more than the original case or not.

Yea that would work too. I wanted to do that at first but thinking that with the extra lump in the battery the rubber case won't be able to hold the phone as well.

What if you got the extended batter that did not portrude out like that one??

If you got a back door like I did, probably nothing you could do without buying another.
You might be able to use the stock battery cover and cut it the same as you would the extended, but if you ever go back to the stock battery, for whatever reason, you wouldn't have a cover (unless you use tape or have a case that fits the stock battery)

Lol where would you buy a spare cover?

What case would you recommend for doing this? I can't tell which you used

here's one if you just want to make it simple and cut the center where the battery is. under the cover they have lines that match the exact battery size. very easy to cut
