I really would like to root this Huawei Ascend M860 (Cricket) that I own. It has Android 2.1, update 1 and I can get no other updates for it. Anytime I search, it says it's up-to-date :) I don't want to sound "stupid", but I have a problem moving around this forum and finding what I look for! Can anyone help me with "how to root Huawei Ascend", previously described? I'm familiar with SuperOneClick....should I use it? If someone could lay it out for me step-by-step or give me a link to step-by-step root instructions for my phone type, I would be so grateful and happy :) Thank-you in advance! Have a great day!

Go to the top of the forum page and click on the all things root subforum and go to the sticky ultimate ascend customization thread. 2.1 on ascend needs z4root.

Johnny Crapple, thank you! I finally found the actual page that has the step-by-step instructions for rooting my particular Huawei Ascend M860 (2.1/Cricket)...I find navigating this forum to be a little confusing though....I had to go all the way to the last page which was really the beginning of the thread....but thanks again, at least now I have some good directions to follow. I'm gonna def try this;I want to get rid of some crapware that is on it, and rooting seems to be the only way to go! I understand it voids any warranty but I don't really care, as I actually bought my phone from a friend so I really didn't have a standard warranty for the phone anyways! The rooting steps I found were authored by Jazziette...is this the correct one? Thanks again :)
