Root [CM7 KANG]YACMK v1.0.0

This looks pretty interesting. I was hoping ICS would be my last stop, but it's a little laggy on my phone, the phone runs really hot and I burn through battery much more quickly than I'd like. Looking forward to using ICS at some point as a daily driver, however. This new CM Kang could be cool. I will report back when installed.

24 hours into it and I'm very pleased. The only issue I see is the occasional (5 times over the last 24 hours) force close of adw and the reboot into clockwork. Neither is a game changer for me and today was a heavy use day on the phone, texting, email, playing with settings etc.

Battery use is pretty good for a 2init ROM/GB KERNEL. I charged it this afternoon and if I was running Liberty 3 V2 it would of made it a few more hours. Not very scientific but you get it.

Below is the list of things that are being addressed with the next release.

-Fixed Cron not running
-made it a toggle in kang menu
-Set SQLite3 Hack to OFF as default
-made it a toggle also
- Fixed CWR Hack option in kang menu
-Also may have fixed the issue with it still booting to clockwork regardless if the hack is active(as seen in 1.0.0)
-Readded ThemeChooser
-Finished Custom OC/UV Script(Stripped and modded from PB 2.5)
-Will be in kang menu
-Working on fixing adw FC issue when opening app drawer
-Setting AOSP Launcher as the default launcher(ADW will still work after fix if you choose to install it once i fix it)
-Themes from ThemeChooser still work with this Launcher
-Adding HDMI out
-Adding FM Radio
-Adding toggleable PowerWake Only Mod
-Working on adding Button BackLight off toggle
-Fixed Goo-Inside.me OTA Update notification

It's probably laggy and burning thru your battery b/c you have an incompatible app using all your cpu. :D

Find out what doesn't work and uninstall it.

I found Droid Overclock doesn't work with ICS in a couple roms.

Ya know, that's very possible. I think I may have made that suggestion to someone else (you? :D) in that other thread. That said, I reinstalled all of my apps using TiBu (not data) and was just hoping it would work as planned. It did not. Until I have time to sit and play with ICS bare bones and work it to a fully functional daily driver I'm going to play with this.

Now onto this one, this is working great. I installed it last night, plopped all of my apps back into it and it's buttery smooth. It's SO nice. I haven't been using it long enough to give a full report, but the battery life so far seems at least consistent with the other CM7 ROMs (which isn't to say it's great, but it will be ok enough to use and not feel like I'm going to get stuck somewhere). I have some time this morning so I'm going to play with it some more. Apps downloaded immediately upon boot and once I was able to hook up to a wifi signal (3G is just terrible in my house) everything was put into place perfectly.

Taking this one on the road today so I'll see how it goes and report back here in a couple of days. Pretty happy that people are still developing for this phone.

so, what is the deal with the lack of any sort of battery status indicator? Ive been poking around in settings for at least an hour and cant find anything that would display a battery status icon. Based on the specs of the ROM it should have 1% battery readings.

I thought it was just me because nobody mentioned it that I could find. But if someone could point out additional steps we may be missing I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I might just reflash.

Overall I like it. My X is no longer active so I can't comment on signal, but as a wifi only device this looks good to me.

I'll third the "I can't figure out how to get a battery indicator" Thanks for any help. Other than that, I am pretty happy with this. Really slick.

Regarding the battery indicator issue a reboot or status bar update (receiving a text etc.) is what users are saying "fixes" the problem. I had the same issue but forgot as it has not returned and this has been logged on the main forum forum for the developer.

Nmr, Greavous and jerry42570 do you still have the issue (assuming you stayed on the ROM)?

Monday's coming... arrgghhhh

Settings - cyanogen mod settings - interface -status bar tweaks -battery status style

I found I couldn't see the clock but I realized it was set to the color black. Once I fixed the color it solved that problem

Camera is ok... but video camera is horrible.. and the video player will not play videos at all that I have saved to sd... Is it possible to put the stock camera with panoramic mode on this, and have it actually work? I just cant seem to find a happy mrdium with any modded roms.. some have a jam up camera, and the wifi sucks.. or vice versa...or the dialer is some other thing w no landscape... I need to be able to use it all...

1.2.1

My name is Ken and it's been two weeks since my last YACK. I love the fact that the button backlights can be permanently disabled (see instructions on OP at [ROM][UNOFFICIAL]YACK-v1.2.1[YetAnotherCMKang] - Droid X Development - RootzWiki ). FYI on this build it's either always on or off (even with screen off) so if you like the button backlights this release is not for you.

Video is still not right so if you need this stay away for now.
