Android 2.1 tracer?

I updated my Eris last night thanks to the EASY instructions on Eris 2.1 Tutorial thekrtek.net
Any way since I did I've noticed that the keyboard on my SMS screen has in small gray letters XT9 just above the shift key. Does anyone else have this?

Could this be a watermark left by Android for the "leaked" version of 2.1? Do I watch too many conspiracy movies?
