Root Ultimate DROID 5.5 (ERE25 base)

Huh... his " Update.zip Installation Info & Instructions:" is word-for-word the same as Pete's 0.4 ERE25-based ROM. After what just transpired at Alldroid, this makes me a little wary...

"-Uninstall any apk & odex files I previously moved to /data (Only If Installing Over 0.7 Or Previous ROMS)"
Why don't I remember there being an Ultimate Droid 0.7?

AWESOME ROM. Switched from Smoked Glass v5.0.1 and was very happy with that after I ironed out the stability issues. But Ultimate Droid v5.5 is amazing. Super easy install/flash and almost immediately noticed how incredibly fast it is!
There is the option to use Launcher or Launcher+ for your home screen. The differences are very subtle in appearance, but the main difference is Launcher+ has 7 screens. In Launcher there are dots in the bottom left and right to display where you are between the 5 different screens. In Launcher+ there is a series of underscores that fades in as you slide from screen to screen to show your position.
Overall, an awesome ROM! The only pain was reinstalling all my apps and basically setting everything back up again. So I'd also say that, though I haven't gotten it yet, I'd say the "pro" version of Titanium Backup is going to be worth every penny.
For anyone who accuses Blackdroid of plagiarism (so to speak) this ROM is different from any other ROM I've flashed or seen. But then again I'm not a Droid blackbelt like many. Still a great and original ROM.

Here are some screenshots I took...(you can see the "underscore" I referred to in the picture entitled "UltDroidlft")

From U5.0 no, but I do it anyway. I'm picky like that - comes from years of upgrading various OSs only to have all sorts of problems crop up, whereas clean installs never have those problems....

(*nix, MacOS *and* windows)

Thus far, I am liking the ROM a lot - I used my little trick that I wrote up (see http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/51037-alternate-way-back-your-apps-your-computer.html) to restore my apps to my phone, a helluva lot easier than searching through Market to find them all...

About to install Chevy's 1.25 and see how it goes....

However, my stupid self did not bother to see if there was an OC kernel already included - and there apparently is....

Runs stable thus far at the default kernel allowing for OCs up to 1200 MHz, and for the first time I am reliably seeing times in the 140s in SetCPU....

Let's see what happens after I get everything configured an running at boot again....

So I am not the only one to notice that then

I loaded it for about 5 minutes, saw the theme and that it used launcher instead of home and went back to my BB V.4 ERE25 install using Chevy's 1GHz OC kernel. I really prefer the stock theme to Smoked Glass, I wish ROMs would keep the stock theme then release a Metamorph or update.zip to install their custom theme.
