Behold 2 is a waste of time.

I am sorry some of you paid good money for the behold 2 but it's a crap Android phone. Most likely the worst Android that will ever be made (hopefully). I have used the G1, Mytouch, Hero, Droid, and the Nexus one. I won the Behold 2 from Samsung and I can't use it at all. I won't go into detail about all things that suck about this phone; I am sure most of you know that already. I have emailed Samsung daily for weeks with no real support on the problems of the phone. I spoke with T-mo support many times and they did not even know the phone did not have a external LED for missed calls. My biggest problem is that I feel like people are getting taken advantage of. T-mo and Samsung are selling this phone as a high end Android and it's not. I am not a hater there are a few good things about the phone and they could be made better with many bug fixes and Android 2.1. So, Bottom line! the phone is cheap and full of bugs with an old OS. It should be free with a 2 year contract or maybe $99 without contract. Please don't buy this phone if your looking at Android. T-mo is a good company but lets send them a message that we won't buy crap like this and we will protect other T-mo users from falling into the "Behold 2 is a high end Android because it has an AMOLED screen" trap. We want nice phones with the latest version of Android.

I sort of have to agree with this though not so much in the almost venomous tone. My experience with the Behold II was to say the least, painful. With the battery issues and sluggish performance, I grew fed up with it. I gave it to my brother (who had an even worse phone, used Blackberry 8100 that was falling apart literally). He enjoys the phone (obviously considering the former), but even he sees the performance issues. Samsung really needs to step up to the plate and fix the problems with this phone.

The behold 2 is more or less an entry level android phone. If you're new to the game it's exciting and offers a great alternative to the other operating systems on the market. It's definitely not for the power android users used to heavy customizations. It's like a starter house when you're making your first foray into the land of mortgage payments.

Albeit a low level entrant, it does offers a rich multimedia experience and has a few redeeming qualities other android handsets could take note of.

What purpose does this thread serve?

The N1 rarely gets 3G because the antenna was designed poorly plus the screen can only display 256 colors.

The Droid's "gorilla glass" screen cracks like its almost a feature.

The cliq has no battery life and the bug fixes make it worse or even brick the phone.

The G1 has about zero memory, so you can have about 3 apps, if you like to carry a 1980's sized phone.

Any others that are better??

Go sell your Behold and buy an iphonee.

I like the phone. I went from the touch pro2 down to this due to the fact that I had barely used the keyboard in the other one. Plus, once you get the BH_man rom it works really fast. The only thing that I don't like is the battery life right now and the onscreen keyboard. The HTC touch pro 2 has a better on screen keyboard than this one.

Try Swype, it's life changing.

I don't know why but I've never had all the problems most people complain about with their behold2s. I was a heavy windows mobile used a lot of cooked roms on the phone I had which was also a samsung. Going from that I knew kinda what I would have to do to make this phone more usable. So I rooted my phone, deleted bloat ware, got and home replacement app, task killer, and finally an over clocking widget. After doing that I have only had the virbration problem twice in two months and a random restart once. Since I could us the over clocking widget to make sure my phone would be down clocked when I wasn't using it I easily could go from 6am to when I got to bed around midnight on one charge. Plus that was with heavy use such as using internet, google maps for directions using gps, a lot of texting, and a few phone calls. By the end of the night I may be down to between 10 and 30% battery but who cares I'm home and going to sleep so it can charge now. I mean if you want and Iphone out of your behold 2 sell it and go buy one. I've read plenty of forums on all of t-mobiles phones and if there is one thing they have in common it's that every forum there is always someone that wishes they had a better phone, they hate theirs, t-mo falsely advertised the phone they bought, or go knows what else. I like my phone great camera, great screen, built better than my last samsung phone, and I hardly have any problems with the usability.

He was just a one post troll!

Yup. Everything he said was either A) Incorrect or B) The case for most Android phones running on older software.

In my opinion, next to the Droid and N1, it's the best Android phone available. And as Shawn mentioned, even those phones have their issues. In fact, every piece of technology has its issues. Android is new... give it time to evolve. Some people will just never be satisfied. Sad.

Oh yes he was. Also as you can tell...

He also never stuck with one phone, so I can just imagine all the bad things he has said about those phones also.

The key word was USED. I only own the G1 and the Behold 2. My rooted G1 is still the phone I use everyday. I would use the Behold 2 more if Samsung or Tmo would just fix it. The last time tried to mount it to the computer the SD card kept un-mounting. I stand by my point that this phone should not be sold as a high end Android. As far as only posting once, I have a life. I don't spend all day looking for people to insult and call trolls on forums. I post when I think I can contribute. In this case I think people looking for the Andorid experience should stay away from the Behold 2.

The unmounting issue is caused by a faulty cable, it really has nothing to do with the phone. I had that same experience as well, suffice it say though it was the same cable that shipped with the handset and that's just unacceptable.
