extract the .zip anywhere then put the dload folder on to your sd card's root(on the sd card, not in any folder)
power off, then power on holding END(RED BUTTON) and either vol up(or down)+power

i forget which way the vol button goes, but one way, you go into fastboot (stuck on white huawei screen):D and the other way, it goes straight to the update, saying unpacking, 1 of 2.
it'll take all of 2-3 min to update. sometimes it'll hang, so if it does, boot into recovery
(call(green)+vol UP+power) and select factory reset.

keep in mind that this will erase ALL your data *AND WHATEVER RECOVERY YOU HAVE AT THE TIME!!!*and only super1click works to root it- havent tried (or found:thinking:) gingerbreak 1.3)
z4root dont work, either

flash THIS recovery in order to back up, flash etc:cool:

OR you can just extract the zip and read the .pdf:p

I downloaded it on my phone and I can't seem to be able to move the dload file. Or can I just move the whole file?
if you DL'd to your phone,, using root explorer or some kind of file manager, longpress on it till u get the option to extract and do so. once its extracted go to where its extracted and move the dload folder to the root of the SD( as in not in any folder)-you should then have a dload folder with an update.app file in it.

I'm a noob here, but i was wondering if this upgrades the adroid os or is this just a firmwire update? And is its just a firmwire update can someone link me to the the 2.3 os update please?
its a firmware update only(i think:p) and as far as i know, 2.3's not officially out for the m835.
what's crazy is they got ICS (4.04)all the way up to a beta-6 on the ideos u8150 and it flashes on my m835, so once i figure out how to port , umm, anything, let alone ICS, ima put it up:cool:

I'd leave ICS Porting alone as with The Frankenport of CM7 cause some issues still, like a blank Camera Preview

EDIT: Just Tested Unrooting with Gingerbreak 1.2 on the updated firmware and it does unroot successfully
