2 questions on searching.

1st . When I want to look up a contact to call while driving, I was hoping to do this via voice search. So if I want to call my wife (i have a contact in as wife), I long hold the search button (thanks to that video of tips!), and say wife. This brings up a browser with google search for wife (some very interesting sites with wife out there...).

I was hoping it would bring up my contacts list like it would if I typed in -w-i-f-e , which shows me contacts, and other things.

2nd question. Say I want to find the phone number of my friend 'john doh'. If I type 'john doh anytown' into the search, ti brings up google search, and shows me all sorts of things, like a linkedin page, 123people, etc.etc.

What is the best way to have it search for a phone number. Is there a dedicated app that uses white pages etc. How is everyone else finding phone numbers.

thanks.

For voice dialing, there is an actual voicedial app that is separate from voice search. It's in the tray. I don't use voice much. My solution for dialing frequent numbers is using the GDE homescreen app and on my primary homescreen, I use an application dock. I store the contacts I use most there, where I can just flick to their pic and dial direct.

There's also a somewhat handy little app called gesture search. Only had it a day or so, so I'm not sure if it's intuitive enough for my needs or not, but it's free, so play with it.

Can't help on refining searches. I know there's a Yellowbook voice app that's ok, but not real special. At least it doesn't pull up businesses that have been out of business for 10 years like Google does.
