So I Need Some Help..

On Tuesday, I have a interview for a tech position at work, well one of the things I gotta do is give a 5 minute presentation and give by step instructions on how to do something in front a panel of 6 supervisors. People at work mentioned I should do something on my phone since its awesome and im always on it lol. So my question is any ideas you think i could do step by step instructions and present to them, i was thinking on doing something simple like setting up a ringtone for a contact or how to uninstall a application but i need to go around 5 minutes, so any ideas anyone?

Setting a ringtone probably isn't going to impress anyone but I'm sure you are not supposed to do anything too complicated. I'm guessing they want to see if you can communicate and explain something technical to others...close enough?

Are you rooted and running custom roms? If so, you could demonstrate how to take your phone from "stock" to a custom rom like Bugless Beauty. If you did a little research, you would be able to talk about what your phone is doing throughout the update process and discuss the applications involved (Recovery, Nandroid, etc.).

Benchmark stock rom with SetCPU > Power down stock rom > Boot into recovery > Restore custom rom > Reboot > Benchmark new rom to demonstrate overclocking capabilities

I just think that would make for a nice presentation and if you had a stock rom loaded up, and a finalized "custom" rom ready to swap over to...it would take about 5 minutes...and probably impress the supervisors sitting there with their iPhones

If you have a projector handy you can run a slideshow via a vnc client such as phonemypc (the one I use). It makes a pretty good impression and runs quite well and only requires a very small pc download.

Display hacking or rooting your phone and installing a custom theme using metamorph and how to use advanced debugging on the droid to add and remove features....i guaruntee you can come up with a five min presentation

"People at work" are not the ones who will be evaluating you for this position. Unless one of the supervisors who will be evaluating you suggested that you do something on your phone, my advise to you is to concentrate on something specific to the position you are applying for. Sure, the phone may be awesome, etc., etc., etc., but as a manager, I would be more impressed if you demonstrated some sort of knowledge about the actual position. So, you need to decide whether you want to show off your cool phone or whether you want the new job.

(This advise made from my point of view as a hiring manager, not as a phone junkie.)

I agree with TXLady. Perhaps say more about what the position entails and you'll get some ideas. It might be good to integrate the two: give your presentation on the PC, aided by your phone, but talk about something related to the job.

I have a friend who gave a presentation at work using PhoneMyPC. He was to give one presentation amidst many others doing the same. When someone got done, they closed their presentation, and the next person walked to the front of the room and fidgeted with the PC to get their presentation working, then they stood there so they could click the mouse.

When my friends time came, he stood, walked to the middle of the room, touched the screen on his phone and his presentation opened on the PC. He never got near the PC, and used his phone as a clicker to walk through the presentation. It made him look quite 'tech savvy.'

He used PhoneMyPC. He used a custom action to run Powerpoint and open his presentation. He used Control Mouse + Keys to click through the presentation.
