Thinking about upgrading to the Galaxy SII (should I go for it?)

I currently have the HTC Evo 4g, and its been having non-stop problems for the past couple of months. I did several resets and its still acting up. I love this phone but I'm thinking it may be time to purchase a new one.
I already talked to a rep at sprint and she did say I can do a early upgrade by buying out the rest of my contract (my contract is ending in july 2013)

I'm thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy SII, my boyfriends friend has it and its a very neat phone. I really like it! But I'm not sure if I should wait until other newer phones come out (also a couple more months as well) I'm debating whether to or not to wait.
I'm trying to find out if Sprint would get the Galaxy Note (journal) soon, but I haven't heard of anything else about it :(
I have 3g in my area, I live in Monroe MI and I'm not really sure when we will be getting 4G LTE in our area or not..&& I do not want to switch carriers just to get a phone ya know?

any suggestions? or opnions?
thanks a bunch! :)

I would save the money, root the EVO & put a proven/stable ROM on it instead of getting another WIMAX phone. Check the sub-forum EVO: ALL THINGS ROOT.

Only when 4G LTE comes your way would be when I'd start looking at getting a new phone.

Yeah, I don't trust Coporate stores and "early" upgrade options. You might end up paying way too much for the SGSII even if it's a nice phone. I'm not sure what "buying" out your old contract means but it sounds sinister! jk :p

Anyways, I would side with our fellow members and say root your EVO.

I believe buying his contact means to pay his ETF :p Which could be something paltry if he bought the Evo 4G when it was released.
