Root Boot Loop After Rooting

Hi,

I just rooted my milestone and now phone is stuck in a boot loop. I did the 2 wipes and nothing. Tried starting my phone in safe mode, but refuses to move from the screen that shows the Motorola logo.

Any ideas?

I've just had a similar problem with my Nexus One. Remove the battery, go back into Restore mode and make sure you wipe EVERYTHING. I just wiped data but you need to wipe Dalvik, cache etc. Reboot and should hopefully be fine

I was in recovery mode and wiped both the cache and the data. Still nothing.

I booted it the way you describe and got to the Bootloader screen. I connected the USB cable, but do not see the phone on 'My Computer'. Now what?

OK. I downloaded the update, but it won't recognize my phone at all.
IDEAS?

I did not use the RSD Lite to fix, what I did was to use the Software Update Tool from Motorola as mentioned on the other thread. Bricked Milestone.

Well were you able to fix it? If not I suggest you go with RSD Lite.

yeah, the software updater is not gonna recognise the phone in this state. you will need to flash back to 2.0 with rsd lite and the 2.0 sbf file then start afresh.

I updated with the software updater, left it updating and went to get a brew, then when I come back it says it's finished and I need to unplug, reboot, plug in. But it's just sat there at the moto logo! Pulling the battery and loading into the bootloader got the tool to see it and tell me it had finished, but I still just get the logo.
Tried flashing the update with RSDLite but I get the same problem.

wtf. seriously. Any ideas?


edit. once again, reloading into the bootloader allowed RSD to finish and tell me the result was a "PASS", but I still have the same problem.

I had this problem i held down the camera button and powered on and i cleared cache and the user data and it booted up. If this does not work you need to press up on the dpad + power until you get the bootloader screen. Connect to rsd lite and reflash

I did eventually have to wipe and start from scratch. I managed to restore my nandroid backup after wiping and put mybackup on there to archive my settings and apps etc, then I wiped again and flashed the full 2.1 sbf using RSD. Took a bit to get it all set up again but I now have a working phone running 2.1.
