Screen Off/Lock and No Lock

I posted this on Android Central as well. There was a response but no description on how he got No Lock to work.

For the life of me I cannot get screen off and lock and no lock to work for me on the Photon. Both work fine on my evo, evo 3d.

Screen off and lock is just an app that allows you to turn your screen off and lock the phone by clicking an icon vs hitting the power button. No lock is an app that allows you to turn off your lock screen and lets you turn on (wake up) your phone by clicking the volume rocker vs hitting the power button.

I only can get Screen off and lock to take me to my lock screen (if no lock is disabled), or it does nothing at all (if no lock is disabled)? I can get get No lock to bypass the lock screen but I cant seem to wake up the phone ever by hitting the volume buttons.?

I have tried various different screen off/lock apps and no locking apps to no avail. Could this be an issue with Motoblur? Thanks in advance.

I've tried "Screen Off and Lock" and "Widgetsoid 2.X" to turn off the screen and both just take me to the stock lock screen (not even to Widget Locker, which wouldn't be so awful).

I've tried using easy wake mode in Widget Locker to turn it back on using hardware buttons, but nothing ever happens.

How are you able to enable No Lock to allow you to wake up the phone using the volume keys? Are most people putting the phone to sleep by hitting the power button? or is there a better app that replicates this other than Screen off/lock? Thanks.
I'd like to know as well. I don't see any options in No Lock to enable wakeup via volume keys.

If you're using No Lock by BoD, the start up screen says that that is on by default and the dev isn't taking requests to turn it off.

They also note that No Lock may not work on all phones.

If it's working at all, I'm surprised that the volume keys just don't work automagically, but mileage varies.

It works fine on the Photon, but the Power button is the only one that will wake it.

I know this thread is a bit old but I have a question... Just got this app for my evo3d and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the volume buttons work to turn the screen on and off... Any tips?

I've never used this on my Photon. Have you tried searching through the EVO 3D forum to see if anybody has had an issue over there?

No Lock (by BoD) works fine on my Photon. There does not seem to be a way to turn on the phone without using the power button.

Which is my next question: IS there an app that will allow one to turn on the phone using the volume rocker rather than the power button? I'm afraid that button ain't gonna last one or two years.

NOTE: I will even accept so-called screen lock/unlock apps that allow user to turn on phone by volume rocker even if this is a weakness or unintended function of the app.

Pretty sure widgetlocker does that
