Help Unregistered Sim

At least once a day I go to use my Galaxy ace and just under the time(top right hand corner) it has: "Unregistered Sim" !!!!!
My phone wont work. Take out the battery, reinstall the battery and everything is good.
I shouldn't have to keep doing this.
Can someone tell me what is going on and how to fix it.
Thank you

the during 90 sec you have to accomplish registration via the phone

2-scroll down till advanced set
3- scroll till registration then 'regest base' then chose the handset No.
4. the pin No. is 0000

I don't think any of that is for me.
I got phone new about 6 months ago and it has worked fine up till a few weeks ago.
Like I said in my post, at least once a day it shows UNREGISTERED SIM all in capitals where it normally would read my carriers name.
I remove the battery and put it back and phone is okay for the day.
Do I have a problem with the SIM card?
Thanks

The phone is useless now, when I turn it on and the screen saver appears I see in the top right; "Unregistered Sim" it use to say my carriers name?

Hello wfeere. I have to admit that I am wondering why you have not taken the device with the SIM errors and had it looked at by techs at the store/carrier where it was purchased. It is obviously a SIM related issue, whether it's actually the card itself or a poor connection at the point of contacts.

You can first try using rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab to clean off the area where the contacts are, etc.
