Help Change Gmail Password on GNote

I'm hoping this is one of those times I'm just missing the obvious, but I've been looking for a couple days and can't figure out how to change my Gmail account password on my phone. I changed it the other day on the site and now can't sinc my email or Google voice data.

I tried just deleting the acct and re-adding, but the phone said I couldn't and would have to reset the whole phone.

Also tried adding the acct a second time but its smart enough to know its already there.

Thanks, in advance - I'd rather not reset if I can avoid it.

I had the same issue and it seemed to constantly give errors that I just wiped the damn thing and it worked.

The way I quit running into these issues with my Google Account is to activate 2 factor authentication.

https://www.google.com/settings/

2-Step Verification (turn it on and go through the prompts)

  • What happens here is your account is more secure
  • If you log in from a new computer you will get a text message with a verification code
  • Auto Log-In is only active for 30 days on ANY PC and will have to re-authenticate with text message code
  • You can assign Application Specific Password. This way, if you change your account password, you do not have to worry about the application passwords changing (good for Android Devices)

This may seem like a hassle, but if you ever lose your device, you can log in and cancel the password for the phone and no one can use that account anymore.

I do have to agree that it REALLY sucks that Google has made it so difficult to do something as simple as update the password. :(
