Help Wifi Connection Problems

I don't know where or how to post this...sorry...

My ZTE Warp finds my wireless signal verified by my SSID listed on my phone...

I can not connect. It says scanning, then says disconnecting repeatedly. If I unplug and plug the router back in. Viola, can connect, I have a signal. ??? I just returned the router for the same one. Belkin N150, could it be the router and phone are not compatible. It seems to be doing the same thing and this router is brand new ??? I am able to connect elsewhere but never around long enough to determine if I lose my signal, can I get it back without rebooting the router ??? This is my second WARP. The first one had problems also with the WIFI connecting, but seemed not nearly as bad. I am really thinking it is the router. Just don't want to buy another one and just have the same problem. Could be the phone too ???

I've experienced mild problems with routers too. First, are you very close to the router? Second, have you tried turning wireless on/off on the phone? Sometimes a toggle fixes these things.

Most of my wifi experiences come from another phone I am tethered to, and because of the connection's nature I often lose it. But this has occurred on several devices prior to the Warp so I doubt it's especially related.

I was able to change my router and viola' works fine. Also using a program called wifixer. I do not know if if helps. I will evaluate over a few days and if it is just a waste, I will uninstall it.

As a follow up...if your having any wifi problems. Download from GOOGLE PLAY WIFI FIXER. I works awesome. Even though at home I exchanged my Belkin Router for a Netgear router and that solved my wifi connectivity problem. I happen to see this program after I was done and downloaded it. At my Mom's she has like a 10 year old Linksys, love them, that barely works. You had to unplug and plug it in constantly to get a signal, dropped signals etc...

Well with WiFi Fixer to my amaze, I got by my Mom's and I am able to connect to her router to no problem.

I've seen issues with wifi in general, and ironically the code behind this looks like GPSFix in theory...keep the wifi running and don't let it turn off despite what Android wants to do...interesting but not revolutionary.

If you think this helps you acquire a signal? Well... I don't believe so, but placebo never hurt.

I beg to differ....it is not a placebo effect. Read the thousands of reviews that this app solved issues for people. I can not absolutely connect to my Mom's old router without it. DONE DEAL. With it, it will take a few seconds, but it will reauthenticate, release, renew, reset until it fixes the problem and acquires a signal. On my router is does none of that becuase it is new and compatible with no problems. And, I have a good buddy who's wifi problem was not as bad, but I told him about it and he tried it. AND BOOM, he loves it and no more problems either. So before you go just knocking an app you know nothing about or even tested, I don't want hear your 2 cents. P.S. I do not have mine configured to have on wifi all the time. It is an option, if you took the time out to find it. Don't mean to be an idiot, but I truly believe in this program, read tons of reviews, had wifi problems, got wifi fixer and BOOM....I have wifi anytime I need it like it should be. So, if you want to call it placebo, well that is one hell of placebo.

I should add, through it functions and tools, like resetting, reauthenticating, releasing, renewing,etc...it does help "acquire" a signal. Can sell it anymore. Break your wifi and try it, bet is will work. And for the record, I have NO FAITH in this app at all either, but with the probs I was having, I said WTF, well to my surprise the reviews and that stated purpose of the program was correct. 5 STARS

And yes, I imagine it would be most effective if you burrowed into advanced wifi settings to have the system use a "never-off" policy too. Maybe it's not required, but it hasn't hurt me and probably can't hurt.

I have my wifi settings already set to never turn off...but it still does when the phone goes idle. Tried the app keep wifi alive, same thing happened. I tried several other apps as well with no success. Now my WIFI radio may be on, but my WIFI signal lights go off at idle and then reconnects when I unlock my phone. I want to keep it on all the time. But my ZTE WARP is not allowing me to ????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have your Wi-Fi sleep policy set to never then it must be some other setting as this does not happen on my phone.

Are you using the basic "phone locking" capability? You might want to try to turn it off and see what happens.

Are you using some kind of battery managing app might want to turn that off as well.

My WARP will not let me delete networks from its memory. My home encryption is WEP, and there is my phone has the encryption for my home network set as WPA/WPA2. Since the encryption is not set correctly, my phone will not connect to my home network. I assume this is the problem anyway. The phone will also not let me change the encryption settings for that connection, and like I previously stated I can not simply delete (forget) the connection so I can enter the configuration correctly
