Help 3G not working?

For the past few days I haven't had 3g . My prevail has been stuck on 1x and my battery has been lasting a lot less then what I normal get. So I am thinking it keeps losing the connection and reconnecting which takes a larger toil on the battery then a solid connection.


Anyone having the same issues?

First , I would try pulling my battery for a couple of minutes then installing it and see if that will fix your problem . If that didn't work , I would install one of my CWM backups and try that . If it still wasn't fixed , I would use Odin . If Odin doesn't fix it , I would think that either you've got network or hardware problems .

Sounds like you have a tower down. Not much you can do.

Cant call when my only phone isnt working and so I play the waiting game with emails with them. Wonder how many emails its going to take and wonder if they are going to add any money to my account for me having to bitch at them about their non existent service for the past week or so.

Topken I'm not sure where you're located but I'm in Easton, PA area. I've had problems with my service very similar. No 3g or 1g icon at all. I called and talked to Boost Mobile yesterday. They gave me a ticket number and they're supposed to call back monday. Hope they can solve it. Android phone without internet is depressing! Other than those games unable to download pesky adverts! :D

Have you tried to update your profile and prl? Settings> About Phone> System Updates. That's something that they tried with me. Perhaps it'll work for you. Good luck.

Seems there was a network outage here guess I will see how the phone is over the next couple of days if the connection still crap like it was ill be emailing them again.

Now my prevail seems to be data roaming at least according to a notification I received.

Ok my service has been crap for the past 2 weeks and if its still like this next month will be my last month with boost mobile. I will be looking into another carrier probably a 4g one instead of the lousy 3g speeds I have been getting since day 1 with this device.

I tried a number of different prls and not one of them made a difference for me.

I've been having the same problems in the Chicago burbs! This has been going on for the last week or so. In addition to losing 3G, I've had 5 dropped calls! I've never had that happen before and I've been with Boost for 3 years.

Boost must be having some serious issues if this is going on all over the country.

Dastard I am not that far from you to be honest just across Michigan Lake in the Michiana area. Meaning south west lower Michigan here
I suppose that isn't "far", but we can't possibly be on the same network. South West lower Michigan is still 2 states over!

I called them up... what a ****ing task that is, and spent 10 minutes navigating menus before finding the option to speak to someone. Then I went through 3 layers of tech support before I got to someone who called themselves an "Advanced Tech Support" person, but she just said there is an outage in my area related to: "Upgrading your towers for higher quality phone calls!"

Which is exactly what I would expect them to say was the source of any outage. When I pointed out that people all over the country are experiencing the same loss of 3G, and all within the last couple weeks, she would not begin to imagine that there could be any connection.

I am really disappointed by how hard it is to speak to someone there, and then how hard it is to get to tech support. The actual menu structure was oddly phrased, and when it came time to actually speak to someone the voice-over paused for 5 seconds after rattling things off, before then saying which number to press for that! If I hadn't already spent 10 minutes going through the options to know that there should be such an option, I would have assumed in the 5 second gap that I had reached a dead end in that menu. Such obvious attempts to frustrate customers and keep them from talking to someone is seriously saddening.

Same here for Lake Worth, Greenacres, and West Palm Beach area. I'll call them tomorrow and see if I can get some free credits towards my account. This issue has been going on for 2 weeks now.

also my clock is weird now. The system clock will say .. 12:00pm but my notification bar clock says 4:00pm. I dont know what the hell is going on.

The CWM backup that I was referring to is one that I made from my phone and can only be used with my phone . The other I was talking about is in the Odin thread . I'll give you the link to it . If you have any questions about it , post them in the thread plz . :)

I use the EJ06 zip in the Odin thread because I get better signal and 3g from it . If you use that , you will need to use either CTMod 3.4 , CM7 or an app that will allow you to disable the FA19 update . CTMod 3.4 and CM7 will not get the update . You can also install all the FA19 tar files except the phone.tar . You will need to use the EJ06 phone.tar . That will stop the update too .

You may wanna just try the rooted FA19 version first and see what your signal and 3g are like first .

Had same thing went on for weeks, my phone just needed some honey bread. 3g back after installing the new honey bread rom. thanks guys this is awesome!!!!

I've had this happen to me a few times. This usually happened when switching from WIFI to 3G. However, there was this one time where I was getting 1x regardless of wifi. It turned out there was a blackout in the area and they were trying to fix it. Several hours later my phone was working fine again.

You're lucky. I spent over a week with no 3g, intermittent 3g. It would go and come as it pleased. It was very depressing. Android - internet = depressing.

Fortunately it was fixed after the said period. I asked Boost a few times they said that it's being worked on... but they didn't offer me a refund or partial or anything... But even then I love Boost so much I'd never leave them!

I would have asked for them to reimburse me. They've given me a credit on several occasions when I was without service. I asked though and let them know that I was pissed. ;)

I am having similsr problems with my 3g I have a samsung galaxy prevail from boost mobile. a error message keeps coming up. I have ctmod 3.80 with koumakernel


Have you tried reverting back to stock w/ Odin? If so, does your 3g work on stock? If not, it's on Boost's end. Try a prl and profile update too. That may work. If not and you still don't have 3g while running stock, contact Boost. They may need to reset on their end.

If you do have 3g on stock, then re-flash your copy of CTMOD. Make sure you do a factory reset before flashing. If that doesn't work, try re-downloading CTMOD and flashing it again.
