Am I the only one that thinks a touch screen would be, literally, the perfect way to remake Myst?

(also related: am I the only one who really loves the Myst series of games?)

imyst?!? holy crap, if this is true I sure as hell hope the developer makes a version for the G1. I agree with the internal memory deal though.
it would have to wait until running apps from the sd card is possible.... I don't think it should take much for google to create an update to allow it... I don't understand why they haven't yet since it's been a big wish of everyone. Maybe they must debug what happens if a SD with programs on it is removed, or one is put in... I could see that cause the phone to crash.

The sequel "Last Window: Mayonaka no Yakusoku" was just released in Japan. Hopefully it come to the NA market.

While seeing a Myst type game for Android would be fantastic, seeing and playing Myst itself on Android would not bring as much joy long term. Sure it would be nostalgic to play one of the greatest games of all time again; but Myst itself doesn't have the replay-ability that other games have which have already been ported, namely Doom. So, right now, Myst would be great. But an hour after installation it would lose its appeal and the user would have moved on.

I have myst on my ipod. way cool. I was shocked to learn it will be a long time before Android will catch up to Apple in this area. Avatar is also pretty cool too.

Heck, my HTC doesn;t even have enough memory to install a made for android app, Co Pilot navigation, without me having to download to my pc first then move to my sd card.how lame.

The Myst for iPhone took up a whopping 500-600 mbs of space. That's not even possible on any Android phone. Though it would be a nice edition to the market.

Programs must reside on the phone memory, not the sd card, therefore any apps
Are limited, this really affects the games because of graphics.
I have a 16 gb card in mine but still limted to app space per the phone.
I just dont think we will see the big games with rich grapics luke the iphone has.

I tried some of the racing games that i had on my iphone and the same game on android
Was no where near the same in quality and richness, not to mention smoothness.

Wrong. Very wrong. ExZeus has about 57MB of data. Guess where that data's stored? The SD card. The game otherwise takes up about 3-5MB of internal storage. So, hurrr someone's a durr.

As for Myst, definitely. Hell, I'd love some point-and-click adventure games on Android. A touch-based control seems perfect for that kind of thing.

I wonder if anyone can make a DOS emulator. I remember playing these games on my old 386. I wouldn't mind playing the Myst games and Star Control 2 again.

SCUMMVM works like a charm, but the supported games are too limited.

Any flash site wo work. Then told no. Only certain ones. Then i was told hero would get flash 10.1 in the 2.1 upgrade then. Told no. Then i was told heto will get fllash 10 from zdobe the wS told no now they say yez rigjt on the website heto will get flash 10. This is crazy. I cannot even get the apps i used yo use on my non goovle phone on. My google os phone i have now.

It depends on the developer to allocate their data intelligently. The ones who made Exzeus managed to make theirs load data from the SD card.

Yeah, it's really tough to kerp up with things.

There's a dosbox port for android, but its still in alpha and is completely unoptomized and slow on the Droid.

Myst would be awesome. As well as Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. DosBox running on Android would be sweet.

That sounds promising. If it is slow on the droid, it will probably crawl on the Hero. I guess I'll wait and hope they release a good working version soon.
