The only issue I have with non-replaceable batteries is what's going to happen to the customer if the battery goes bad for whatever reason? It's very easily written off as being customer abuse even if it wasn't. Without the battery being replaceable you'd be stuck buying a new phone.

As long as that can be covered under insurance, I'm fine with it. Of course, ideally, I'm hoping that any of the phones that come out with longer lasting, non-replaceable batteries (without adding thickness) are hopefully reliable enough to last 2 years without any issues.

I do as well, but we all know stuff happens. It's the name of the game when dealing with mass produced items. It would be really hard to prove you didn't damage the battery in the event it wasn't your fault.

I know it's asking a lot, but I would hope Sprint (and others) would provide more leeway when dealing with integrated batteries. I would hope that's the case. What's odd to me is, I've heard so many horror stories of people's experiences with Sprint CS in the store, but majority of my experiences were fantastic. There was only a single instance where they tried to be sneaky and switch my red EVO OEM battery with a generic black battery. Good thing I take off the back cover immediately after bringing my phone into the store.

Nontheless, seems like integrated batteries might be a route that the manufacturers are going. With the HTC Evo LTE (Currently #1 choice on my upgrade list, until Motorola's next superphone gets announced), I wouldn't be surprised if Motorola's next offering for Sprint resembles the Razor Maxx (which would possibly explain the Photon being on EOL). The more I think about it, if Motorola and Sprint really want to make a big splash, that Razr Blade w/ the new Intel chip might be something that would create noise, even with the LTEVO creating so much buzz already.

I'm just hoping we hear something by the end of the month, regarding Motorola's next superphone on Sprint. I'm already getting the itch to jump back on the HTC bandwagon (even though I've loved my Motorola experience from day 1).

Okay, so I'm doing a little more speculating now that HTC has thrown down the gauntlet with the LTEvo. What if, the Motorola "Blade" (rumored name being discussed) is in fact Sprint's version of the Razr Maxx...except, with a 4.5 or 4.7 screen?

And if it's the first Intel Medfield chip, it's another way for Sprint to make a huge bang and Motorola to take away the spotlight from HTC.

If you look at the size comparison between the Razr Maxx and the LTEvo, the LTEvo is only .16 taller. Maybe that's just enough real-estate for Motorola to have figured out how to make their first Ice Cream Sandwich device, to be released on Sprint and also the 1st Intel Medfield chip?

We all know how Sprint loves the "1st" marketing...LOL.

Maybe Motorola follows the same pattern as HTC where, shortly after the International One X was released, the LTEvo was announced. So maybe we'll be seeing the Sprint/US version of the Blade very soon afterwards? Just more speculation, but I'm antsy to see if Sprint/Motorola intend on having another superphone or if they're letting the Photon die out and won't be venturing into having another phone to replace it.

More speculation, but I'm predicting that if Sprint and Motorola decide to release another Motorola Android superphone as a follow-up to the Photon, the rumors/talk will really start to come out around beginning-mid May. This is purely based on the early announcement of the LTEvo yesterday. It wouldn't even be surprising if we hear rumors at the end of this month, although I'd be more willing to bet on May, since that'll take since it'll already be a month from when the LTEvo was announced.

I've been looking around for a new desktop PC & putting my money aside for it, but, if something like this hits the street, the PC may have to wait a while longer, especially if the current accessories/docks are compatible.

The more I think about this realistically, I think the rumored Motorola Bullet might be the replacement for the Photon. Only question is, what processor it gets, since the Tegra 3 is having problems with LTE integration.

It's driving me crazy. The deafening silence from Motorola and Sprint has me worried that Motorola and Sprint are done. The Photon is already EOL and there have been no leaks. I hope it means that there is an amazing announcement around the corner but as the silence continues my hope fades.

If this is the next "Atrix" or whatever ATT's replacement of the Atrix is, I'd imagine Sprint would get another "similar" replacement for the Photon:

So, if that's the case, maybe there is something in the pipeline for Sprint, since the LTEvo is using the S4 also. I'd imagine that's one of the main reasons...for LTE usage.

Well, let's not get our hopes up until we're closer to the end of May. That's when leaks were starting to get reported about Sprint's 1st Motorola superphone. It may be a little earlier than that, just basing it on when the EVO 3D was actually released, so maybe 3-4 weeks, we'll start to see some leaks (if any). If nothing is announced half way between the LTEvo pre-order and the LTEvo release date, that's when I'll be a little concerned. As of right now, I'm trying to be optimistic that Googlrola has something in store, but just doesn't want to leak it until a little after the pre-orders for the LTEvo start.

I think you're right. It does look similar to the Motorola concept pics. We can only hope that what Asus came up with was not a proprietary thing. After all, you'd think that Motorola would figure out a way to do it as well, since they already had the "dock" concept.

I've had chats with TS about it. Ideal smarphone/accessory combination would be a phone/tablet/lapdock combination similar to how ASUS set up the padfone. I think Sprint is the only provider that can really pull it off, without charging anything extra, simply because of the unlimited data.

Nah. I hadn't gotten a chance. What I did find, was this needle in a haystack article about Motorola recently filing a trademark for an "Electrify Icon". Here's a tidbit I posted in the Sprint sub-forum.

Things are looking good for a Photon 2 (maybe under a different name, since it states the trademark is the Electrify Icon).

It's speculating ATT. Thing is, it's model number is MB886. The Photon is MB885. Atrix was MB860 and Atrix 2 was MB865. I'm thinking that this might potentially be a replacement for both the Atrix and the Photon that'll be available on ATT and Sprint. The picture on the website, I'm thinking is just a speculation mock-up.
