Finally, the LG Marquee from Boost Mobile will go on sale starting January 23 for $279.99.

I can't wait for the work to begin on this phone! interdpth, smith058, mavrikmeercat - I hope you are all looking to work on this phone next, you guys rock the Boost Mobile phone world, especially the Samsung TF Ultra!

Does anyone know if someone is creating a custom rom for the Boost Lg Marquee? I know the stock rom is quite laggy in itself and with the right tweaks could possibly be a way better phone. Just not sure if anyone is working on something? Thanks.

There's no custom ROMS cause there's no recovery..... actually there is a recovery (RZ RECOVERY) but no one has tested yet & as far as the lag goes u can install setcpu or no-frills & bump up the minimum to 600 I've seen Lil to no lag since i did that

Well hopefully they are trying to make progress and not giving up on it lol. I did install No Frills last night and was able to set it to Max Clock 1GHz, Min 300MHz (I will change the min. to 600MHz now), governor for performance, and Not sure what the I/O Scheduler should be..it is on cfq atm. I just know though custom rom will greatly benefit the phone, so hopefully someone can and wants to do that. If I was experienced I would try, but I am sure it is no easy task. So I give thumbs up to anyone working on this, Thank You!

Bionic quick question for you. I have rooted my Marquee but Koush hasn't developed a Clockwork Mod Recovery for it yet so I am unable to Flash and install a custom rom....is there any other versions of Clockwork that i can manually install?

Thanks

I recommend before installing any Custom ROM's, you make a CWM Backup. Then I would suggest following this post: (http://androidforums.com/marquee-al...-zv4_21-cwm-flashable-update.html#post4183146) on updating before you flash to a new ROM.
[NOTE: The link will not work for the zvc update due to server traffic, though the update zip can be found here: (http://www.battlefieldsingleplayer.com/apachethunder/monster/boostupdate.zip)
Then as far as ROM's go, currently the only ROM for the update would be |Monster|'s Marky Beats v1.2zvc which is in this post (http://androidforums.com/marquee-al...eats-v1-2-beta-updated-4-6-a.html#post4086188)
[NOTE: Again due to server traffic, the .zip is here: (http://www.battlefieldsingleplayer.com/apachethunder/monster/MBv1.2BSTzvc.zip)

Hope this can be up some help.. Enjoy!

I don't think you need to run the batch file as admin. Actually I heard that causes problems. So avoid doing that.

Though my UAC is off so all cmd/bat files are always run as admin regardless and I had no issues.

Just make sure you have USB debugging on your phone turned on in Applications -> Development . Otherwise it won't work.

Mine is always set to run as admin as well....my phone is always set to usb debugging so no worries on that.....my worry is that the steps that i take after i download the file and extract all.....the only step i have to do is to right click on the cwm-install and i should be good to go?.....let me know if you have time brotha...thanks

It clarifies somethings to a point but I guess I am still stuck on, "Do I use the CWM from playful god with ROM Manager from Koush (Clockwork Mod) or do I use Marky's Beat?....lol

Thanks

They are both the same, just playful added root.. If I remember right, which I could be wrong, installing CWM removes root. Though either one will work. I personally used |Monster|'s install.

You need to enable USB debugging. Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debuggng. ADB won't work if it's not enabled.

I did enable it. Still didn't work. Any other ideas anyone?

Recap of my issue:
"I just bought a new Boost Mobile LG Marquee yesterday from best buy and tried both of these root methods and they both hang at "*daemon started successfully" and then the root does not progress after this. Any ideas on how to get the root to work??

1) LG Marquee Root Guide
2) knoxville 363's method

(I am using windows 7 and not running file as administrator)"

I had this problem when i first tried this as well. reinstall the drivers (sometimes they mess up on the first install, idk why, and the second install basically redoes all the drivers and adds the rest of the missing files) reconnect the phone enable usb debugging and rerun the .bat file. also make sure you have pulled all of the files out of the zip file onto your desktop or another folder before you run the .bat file. should be good to go after the program is done :bike:

i also used this it will give you cwm which you will need if your gonna be flashing roms
