I'm really looking forward to this device. Going to go SIM only for 2 months whilst I await its release. Hopefully it will be rootable and we'll have many Devs. Also I hope the build quality is good. This is a real concern.

...but the chipset blows the competition out of the water. HTC one X with it's lack of SD slot and removable battery? Pah!

i reckon due to the low production cost because alot of the electronics are done in house (they already provide chipsets for a lot of computer based products) this is what will make the sales price lower than direct competitors.
if they keep the android platform as simple as possible then the dev community will flock to it.
my only concern is that with no other manufacture sharing the same chipsets either via cpu or graphics it means that hacking drivers from another phone to make something work would be out of the window.

If they are clever they will make the drivers and the sources for the drivers available and embrace the mod community as essentially its modders that make a good phone in to a very desirable one

i'm REALLY interested in this phone. i was planning to get the skyrocket hd, but this phone has an ips-lcd. i actually prefer lcd over s-amoled screens. this phone seems like the best of both worlds for me. a plain black slab body like the skyrocket but with ips-lcd.

i also heard this will be vanilla ICS. so if its true that there will be no skin, ala sense, touchwiz....that is just too good to pass up.

and it should be less expensive than the skyrocket hd.

the only thing is, there are conflicting opinions on whether it will indeed have removable battery. but if its removable...i'm 95% getting this phone. unless the web gets filled with bad reviews on build quality. but i'm sure this company is going to make sure their flagship phone does not embarrass them.

I asked on their facebook about the battery after seeing on Youtube that they said it was removable. They confirmed it was removable. Rastaman-FB (above) also asked them in their reply to me on facebook if it was definitely removable as the photos on the web seem to show a sealed unit and again; they said its removable.

The only conflicting information out there appears to be from people who have had the demo units. The guy managing their facebook page keeps repeating that its removable so I have high hopes that this will indeed bee the truth.

well thats it then....this is most likely going to be my next phone. :)

the ascend d is already on negri for pre-order for $579. but i'm just going to be patient and wait for the reviews to come in to see if i actually go for it. but so far, this is the one for me.

I admit that it's looking interesting, even though I have no immediate need to upgrade and some good reasons not to. Hell of a spec, doesn't seem to have the drawbacks of many recent phones, will surely be less expensive than the SGS3, and the fact that it's got a a 2.5 Ah battery and a bigger screen than the HTC Sensation while being narrower and thinner is pretty impressive.

So I don't know whether I'm "waiting" yet, but I'm certainly "watching".

Definitely waiting on this one, doesn't compromise on things that are extremely important to me like the SD slot, and has a large battery. Main things that would really bother me would be locked bootloaders, or less than excellent audio quality.

To be honest I've made my peace with non-removable batteries providing they are large (like this, or even more ideally Razr Maxx large), so that probably won't be a differentiating factor for me (although I completely understand it will be for many).

Only thing that could really turn my head at this point is the S3, but have to wait until May 3rd to see what that brings (if Samsung leave out the card slot they better have like 128GB inbuilt memory, or it'll be the first of their flagships I've passed on in three years).
