That's cool... if Sprint lasts that long. Was it two or three straight years of annual losses? What am I saying? I WANT Sprint to succeed so someone can actually force Verizon to treat their customers better.
Still, do not mistake this whole "I'll get it before you." WiMax is available, but scattered in just around a few places. As for LTE, Verizon has already begun tests on it out in major areas. In theory, LTE will smoke WiMax; in practice it'll probably smoke WiMax if the new standards for WiMax aren't ratified (which should be sometime in 2010, I believe?) And you're right, WiMax can be tweaked to support LTE, but many carriers, figure heads, and entire countries have chosen to bypass the whole WiMax stage and moving directly to LTE.
