synchronising hero-calendar with gmail

Hay all,

I have a question, maybe someone can help me.
I use the standard calendar thats on the Hero. I thought it was possible to synchronize it with Gmail-calendar. On my phone I can find all the appointments I made in Gmail.
My problem is, that on my Gmail I cannot find the appointments that I made on my phone.
So what I would like to do: Make an appointment on my Hero, and when I go to Gmail-calendar on mij computer, I would like to see this appointment.
Is this possible?

(I'm a n00b, so I'd appreciate all the help and if possible in n00b language )

They should synchronise, are you using a google e-mail account on your phone?

press Menu>settings>data synchronisation>google and make sure auto-sync and calendar are ticked, then press menu and sync now. This may incur charges from your provider, just so you know.

Once that is done you should be able to access calendar online and on your phone

I had that problem with my Hero - I also had a problem with my track ball which led me to ring HTC support. They suggested resetting the phone to factory defaults. I did this & it didn't fix the track ball (which somehow magically started working soon after) but it did fix the syncing back to Gmail. At least for a while.

I now find that it's again not syncing from phone to Gmail (but does in the opposite direction). Something I've done has caused this.

Another issue I have is that I create folders & populate them with apps, then after a few days discover that all the apps have diappeared from the folder. Again the factory reset fixed this for a while.

If anyone figures out what is causing this behaviour I'd be most pleased - I can't keep resetting to factory defaults

Try AppsOrganiser. It lets you create folders with your own icons, and lets you back them up incase anything happens to them. Hopefully it wont be effected by the same bug anyway.

Calendar events download to the Hero automatically from G Calendar
But to upload events from Hero to G calendar you need to do this

1. Tap the day you want to set up an event on
2. Tap "add event"
3. Select your google email account in "Calendar" drop menu (at top)
(you only have to do this for your first entry)
4. Type in the info you wish (event, time,etc.)
5. Tap "Add"

Its as simple as that, and as long as you are online, it will upload
and you can view it on your PC.

My Hero has never synched up with my Google account. No Calendar no contacts, nothing. I've tried everything suggested, and it seems to go through the motions OK...it even looks like it succeeds, but when I log in to my Google mail account on my PC there's nothing there at all.

It doesn't really bother me. I don't use my Google mail normally, and everything on my phone is backed up to SD card, but I do sometimes wonder why something that's supposed to work clearly isn't

Well, I've only had my hero two months and I set it up OK the first time, or at least I think I did. Gmail works fine and the Android Market knows what stuff I've bought etc. So everything is working perfectly well from that regard, it's just that it won't sync stuff.

Check your time and date are correct, and disable auto time& date in settings.

You should find sync now works again.

Zaffy is correct - I hadn't realised I needed to change the default calendar to my Google calendar.

I noticed that I have a gmail address associated with my calendar whcih is not the gmail account on my pc. I'm not sure how I did that since the gmail account associated with the calendar does not appear in the list of e-mail accounts.

How do I change the gmail account assosciated with the calendar to the gmail account in the list (and whcih is on the pc)?
