been noticing an issue with battery life the past few days...wondering if anyone can help shed some light..here is the story.

-Wife gets new EVO, stock, un-rooted, so I Figure since I have the SBC kernel I will give her a full charge. SO i swap batteries with her to charge hers up for a night.

-in the morning, we swap and my EVO has not been the same since. It seems like my battery guage is "freezing"..I will stay at a certain %, then on a reboot, it will drop literally 20%. also, when charging, i cannot get the sbc to take me any lower than +14 mah, after 7 hours..(too short?)..

just seems weird to me. using mikg3.11 w/ underworld.02 sbc

yeah it is to early to tell. try wiping dalvik cache, cache and also battery stats as well and see if that helps.

It seems like SBC is hit or miss for some people on the new gingersense SBC kernels. It seems to work just fine for me though. Maybe try redownloading and reflashing the kernel and see if that helps if OCN's suggestions don't. I think mine usually gets down to less than 5 ma.

thanks guys. before the other day when I swapped batteries, I would go down to +4 or 5 easily with about 6 hrs of charge...when my wife was using my battery, she took it to about 3%, so I may not be giving it enough time to trickle...Its on the charger now, going to let it sit until it gets that low, or sbc shuts off on me! lets just hope my battery was very drained..lol..also just re-flashed the kernel along with a dalvik and cache wipe.

This is SUPER ANNOYING!!! Charge the phone overnight, things go well..until I reboot, then I instantly drop from 70% or 25%...then my phone shuts off, re start again..now at 0%..charge the phone a few minutes and reboot..back to 30%. I am all over the place. I tried reflashing the Kernel and even reverting a nandroid from before this problem started..nothing is working. Thinking maybe my battery is shot? Going to flash anthrax in later today and see if things change..maybe I should wait until underworld is updated..I just dont understand, as everythig was working fine until just a few days ago.

-no tweaks or anything has been done...I am dumb founded.

Did you wipe battery stats?

When you restart the phone it will hardly ever show the same % as when you shut it down. It shouldn't change as much as your seeing, but it will change.

The phone uses statistics about prior use to try to calculate a % of battery remaining.

Wipe those statistics either in recovery or via a battery calibration app.

Ive cleared stats, etc, wiped both caches, and even reverted a nandroid..still all over the place. Its just odd as on one reboot, it will show 0% and shut me down..then I turn the phone back on plugged in and i am instantly back to 86%...Gonna roll with chop suey a few days, as that has proven to be stable for me in the past and see what happens.

I think I have pegged the problem at a bad battery..at least that will let me sleep tonight!!! LoL. I swapped the battery out when I got home, charged for a bit..did a restart..approx. the same percentage...waited a few minutes..restart..about the same percentage...thank God it worked..next step was a factory reset/re install of the ROM.

my old battery would only show the correct percentage upon boot if plugged into charger...was thinking a voltage issue..

I've had really good luck with these batteries...

For your electronic accessories needs: batteries, AC adapters, etc.

The ones for the EVO 4G are labeled as 1700 mAh, but who knows? They seem to last significantly longer than the other stock sized batteries I've used, including OEM. And if I use their charger (charges just the battery, not the battery while it's in the phone), 100% seems to last a long time. If I use the charger that came with the phone, 100% seems to only last a few minutes.

Got two batteries plus a universal charger a couple months ago on Amazon for under $20.
