Are you happy with your Desire HD?

The battery I agree with but it comes with 32GB of system memory which is more than enough for anyone and will be faster access than a memory card I would assume and certainly a longer read/write life. Less areas to open and close would lead to better build quality. My friend's DHD sim cover is already really loose after 8 months, it practically drops off on its own now.

Still an amazing device after 15 months. It helps I rooted it and run Android Revolution 6.3.2 ROM.

If I did not have the DHD right now I would buy a Sensation and stick Android Revolution on that.

Very happy with it, had it a year now. And yes I want the One X too but have to wait for end of contract by which point there will be a newer phone out. You can never wait for the next one cos when that comes around another will have been announced etc etc.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I too have had my phone for just about a year and have one more left to go, but am not too bothered, as the phone is great!! :)

I personally still love my DHD. it's still not rooted, as the HTC warranty is 2 years and I'm glad i didnt! 1 part of the screen went all unresponsive and after 3 send backs to HTC UK, they finally gave in and got me a replacement.

Things i love about it:
1) the nice big screen. yes it isnt AMOLED but LCD does give it a more "natural" look about it. guys with iPhones are still a lil envious ar the 4.3" mama.
2) it runs pretty all the apps i need off the market, and it's still on a single core.
3) i actually like the updated sense with 2.3.5
4) i've been lucky and was given a WWE rom and not the Orange bloatware ridden one (UK)
5) im looking forward to when ICS gets finally released

things it could improve on:
1) sound quality isnt that great from the ear piece, i wish it was that tad bit louder esp when your in a pub and outside in traffic.
2) the camera...for stills, its fine, but anything that remotely moves? lol
3) has this odd behaviour when i have my earphones plugged in, around once a month it skips tracks until i power the darn thing on. but its a glitch i can live with.
4) GPS reciever isnt the greatest, certainly isnt strong enough whilst in its otterbox case and in the car...booo....
5) the occasional lag, but doenst happen too often
6) occasional crash...again, doesnt happen too often

my upgrade is due at the end of april, so will be looking at the One X and other alternatives, think i'll start a new thread on that one, lots to choose after MWC hehe

I'm not a root mania, have the latest greatest sense 3 though very tempted to root to get sense 3.5 or sense 4(once that have been ported out of One V that is, I definitely going to start rooting) but even without rooting the phone have been great...

Alright, I've had my trouble with it twice and both times resulted in the DHD being sent to service center, but since it was still in warranty, they've just change the whole motherboard, for it... Twice... Free of Charge... couldn't be happier... :D

Very happy with mine after over a year of ownership. I tend to get bored of handsets very quickly but could happily stick with this one for a while yet.

I'm running ICS on my DHD for now so have got pretty much the latest android experience (discounting the features that the DHD lacks hardware support for) so that can last me until I see a handset that makes me feel like I absolutely must upgrade.

I like the look of the One X but I by no means in a rush to upgrade so I'm going to wait a while and see what else becomes available over the next few months.

I can upgrade in April but to be honest I'm gonna wait it out a bit.

Two reasons: I find my phone adequate for what I need right now, it's powerful enough in my opinion. I'm not left wanting like I was when I had my previous phone to this one, the HTC magic. Was itching to upgrade because it was lagging, not performing etc. But I'm quite content.
And secondly, was tempted by the one x but after learning it has no removable battery, or sd slot then I think I'll wait for maybe the galaxy s3 and hopefully it has them.

I've had countless Nokia's in the past with a Samsung G600 thrown in and tbh the Desire HD has been the best of the bunch. Some may not have liked it being on the large size (I upgraded from a Nokia 5800) but I love it. I've found it to be just the right size and weight! Not sure what will be next though. The HTC One X looks good but so does the Galaxy S3. Who needs a iPhone.....lol.

you see, i got my dhd at a bad point in time : april last year. I didnt know that the DHD was fairly old and well - a "speedy 1GHz processor " seemed a lot better than my Galaxy apollo.
One week after I got it , the Incredible came out. A few more weeks the superior Sensation came out.
I got my phone at a time just before dual core phones were being released.

hopefully if i get a One X , it will last a bit longer , and will be more "future-proof"

I'm happy with mine; it does everything I need.
I originally had a standard flip phone, so moving to the DHD was a huge upgrade. But a smart one. I use most of the apps on a regular basis, and being able to browse the internet or use maps as I please has definitely saved me in a few situations.

All in all, best move I could have made (considering it was the DHD or iPhone4 at the time). My only issue is my phone has been buggy as of recently, I think it's from the 2.3.5 update possibly having an issue when I installed.

I used to love my phone but since the last update it's awful.
The Wifi no longer works, I can't sync my phone to the computer, it restarts constantly for no reason and is totally unstable.
I'm hoping that another update occurs soon and it will fix all the problems, otherwise I can't wait to get a new phone.
I've gone from recommending this phone to anyone who says they want a new one but not an IPhone to telling them to get something else.
I can honestly say I now hate it.

hmmm. mabye one of the others could step in , but have you tried a factory reset - just to see if any of the problems go?

Wrong! You mean, 32GB is more than enough for "you". My 32GB card is just about full and I could get loads more useful stuff on it if I had more space. The 64GB microSDXC cards are very tempting ....

The DHD is still working great for me after about 18 months (October 2010), with a custom ROM and looking to put ICS on it soon.

What do I want?

1) Faster CPU - probably means >= dual-core
2) a screen you can see better in sunlight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) HDMI out. I have dlna and so does my TV but it's still fairly rare.
4) SD card slot!
5) better camera. I always have my phone with me but rarely my camera.
