A Verizon rep told me that in some cases G-mail accounts can become compromised and when you get a new phone that it will carry over problems when you set it up? Does this make sense? I am receiving a warranty replacement with a new battery. I bought a new memory card, and I thought about making a new G-mail. My only problem is, losing all the apps I bought.

Thoughts?

Yeah, that was my first thought as well, given that I've never heard of anything like that happening. If you're worried about it OP, just copy the contents of your SD card onto your PC, re-format it, then do a factory reset on your device. Then, no one can get to your information as your old hardware is no longer a threat to you.
