.::Incredible 4g Speculation and Rumor Thread::.

Given the "our tipster has suggested that this device could intro between $99 and $149 with a two-year agreement." rumor in the first link on this page, it sounds like it's gonna be qHD.

I'm just hoping it is 4", thinner than the Rezound, and has LTE.

Go to the link posted which is what i was quoting. I know it is supposed to be qhd but that link says it is qhd with 720p resolution. "The HTC Droid Incredible is said to have a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. With a qHD display and 720p HD resolution" that is what im talking about

It was probably a typo, or a misunderstanding. HD would be amazing, but qHD is fine too, especially if it's only 4". This will definitely be my next phone. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Good specs, good price, and a nice looking design. People who were disappointed were expecting way too much, this is a very nice mid-range phone.

Agree people can say it is mid range but it still will beat out anything currently on verizon since it has the s4 processor and we saw how those are benchmarking.

This is my biggest thing, I am really gunning for the s4. If its the s3 my wait for a phone may continue, my original dinc is holding up quite nicely still.

It better be the S4, or a lot of people, including myself, will be extremely disappointed. If it's the S3, I officially declare Verizon has no idea what they are doing. What with the new 30$ upgrade fee, and releasing oudated hardware and budget phones while other carriers are releasing top of the line phones.

FWIW, here's a comment from that first link from a "vioboss" (the Exclusive First Image link):

I've seen and played with this phone and I can confirm all of the specs you've got. It is the S4 and a competitively tiny 4 inch screen. In fact, the whole device felt exactly the same in the hand as the incredible 2. The sense 4 camera is bogglingly fast and ubercapable. If I didn't love my Razr's size as much as I do, I'd snatch this first thing.

That is just some random person's comment. There could be no truth to it at all. I'm hoping he's right but it should be taken with a grain of salt. He seems sincere though.

Anyone else find it funny that the guy who made this thread was clearly bluffing?

If it is an s3 it is almost worthless to release it I mean they could just lower the price on the rezound and not even release this. Hopefully the benchmarks were right and it is the s4. I would gladly take this with an s4 processor and qhd screen over anything else on verizon. I am one who thinks 4" is the sweet spot and this would be an awesome phone for that. Plus with htc unlocking bootloaders it will have a huge dev following like original inc.

It seems like some sites are claiming 4" and some 4.3"

I guess I'm happy for those of you that like the smaller form factors but I'm really not interested in anything smaller than 4.3".

If I'm going to be paying for 30 bucks as an upgrade fee, I might as well switch to Sprint and get the EVO 4G LTE for 199. I live in a big enough market. LTE will be here soon enough with them. Meh. I guess we'll see.

Am I the only one hoping for a 4" screen? So far I'm really liking from those photos and listed specs. If that pricing is right, I can deal with the extra $30 on it...

Nope your not... 3.7" screen I would prefer, but if these specs are right and it is a 4", I will at least go to the store and check it out. Upgrade..Well We'll see...

I am holding out hope for this phone.
I think i would prefer the 4.3 screen. the overall size would be the same as my commando.
could care less about the beats audio. throw that crap away imo.
NFC a nice touch doubt it would be useful to me though
1gb ram... normal now
8mp camera. same normal these days
1.2gb dual core snapdragon. nice but 1.5 would be better :) but not complaining
only thing i dont like for a new phone is the 8gb internal memory. should have no less than 16gb.
i actually like the back.. kinda textured. less likely to slip out of my hand. and with that bulge... bigger battery???

the big question i guess will be the battery size

I love my commando but i also love different apps... the internal 400mb of storage sucks bad. constantly deleting apps i like to try other ones. also when getting down to 40-50mb left slows way down.

i almost pulled the trigger on the rezound but like the idea of the DI4G and supposed better specs. and well i wasnt due for an upgrade till today and special ended the 9th. maybe that was a good thing.

so now its either going to be this or the razr maxx. the sceen just scares me on the maxx. commando screen is freakin unreal.. dropped 6ft face down a couple times and 5ft another time trying to catch it and proceeded to go about 10ft tumbling across the concrete.. super tough phone.

Got bored and threw together a mock ad for the phone.

I feel the same but we all know that's how it will be marketed.

The reports of 1.2 Ghz are really interesting to me. It doesn't make any sense. The first wave of S4 processors are designed to run between 1.5 GHz and 1.7 GHz. Economically, it doesn't make much sense for qualcomm to produce this chip at different clock speeds and we've already seen a 1.5 GHz version. My speculation is that they are under clocking and possibly under volting it to save battery life OR their up to the old trick of under clocking for the test phones. If it is a case of under clocking/volting it'll take the dev. community no time flat to fix it.

As for the looks, I like everything besides the conveniently changeable back. Just make the damn thing match the rest of the phone please. Or raise your hand if you think it would look better by simply micro-arcing that shiny gun metal parts. (raises hand)

Why Verizon, Why?? I just cant understand why htc and vzw would want to release this phone. The S4, NFC, and Sense 4.0 are great, but they're crippled by the screen resolution and size, internal storage, and typical htc styling.

I've been looking to upgrade from my DX, but this just doesnt cut it. Along with the delays in the Droid Fighter and Galaxy Journal, and no chance at VZW getting the galaxy s3, I just cant see a phone worth upgrading to in the next few months.

Gnex has awful reception and battery life, rezound is bulky, and the razr maxx is a clone of my dx. Hate to say it, but At&t is about to have the best android lineup, with the skyrocket, note, and one xl coming up.
