Help! Need to send text to more than 250 contacts.

I put over 300 people in a group together because I'm sending all of them the details to a party I'm hosting tonight. I went to send a group text and was informed that I can't send to more than 250 people at a time, but it automatically started to send to the first 250. I need to break up the group into two smaller groups, but I can't figure out a way to do it besides writing down each name, deleting them by hand, and adding them again. I will do that if necessary but it would be very time consuming. Can anyone help me figure out the best way to get a message to 300+ people in one group? I need to do this soon, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys!

If your phone has a limit of 250 people, that's what you have to work with. Mass text messages aren't exactly reliable either, and some networks will actually cut off your text messaging if they see a huge flood going out.

Try a social network instead. (Twitter, Facebook, Google +)

Another option (assuming you use Google to sync contacts) would be to go in to your Google account and split that list of 300 into probably 10 groups of 30 and then send the mass texts to those 10 groups one group at a time. That should break it up sufficiently to avoid the flooding issue. Much easier to maneuver contacts and organize groups like that on a computer on your Google account. Should take all of 5 minutes.
