I'm thinking of buying this phone tomorrow and have a few questions

- Is it possible to link your phone contacts with Facebook, such as linking their phone contact picture with their Facebook picture?
- The phones dualcore processor is only 1.2GHz, is that fast enough compared to the competition? Do you ever notice hiccups or your phone lagging?
- How is the browser?
- Anything you don't like about the phone?

Facebook sync is not an option with stock ICS. Don't know the details why, something about syncing exposes an exploit in the OS. Also heard it was due to the spat between Facebook and Google. A couple custom ROMS have the feature enabled, if you really want it.

Processor speed is good. Sure there is some lag on occasion, but you would get that with ANY phone.

I use the Google Chrome browser, best one yet.

only thing I find flawed might be the weak radio, but I came from a Motorola Droid, and a Droid X, so I got spoiled with great radios.

1. Yes, you can link your FB contacts and pictures. But you have to use an app for it. There's three main choices-- Friendcaster, Facebook Contact Sync, Syncmypix, and HaxSync. I prefer the second one.

2. Yes, it's plenty fast. It's never lagged for me.

3. I really like the browser. The shortcut menu is pretty awesome. It's definitely better than pre-ICS stock browser. But if you don't like it, there's several other options in good browsers.

4. The only thing I don't like is the weak battery life. But the main thing that hogs the battery life is the screen. So if your goal is to get through a long day (12+ hours) without having to charge, if you limit the amount of time you have the screen on, you can do just fine. I went the other day at 14 hours at 50% battery life, with actually some moderate use. But today I think I was down to like 35% after 5 or 6 hours off charge. The difference is just how long the screen has been on. Whenever I look at my battery stats, the screen is always at the top, accounting for 45 - 50 % of the battery drainage.

There are definitely hiccups even if some people don't notice it. Supposedly, 4.0.4 fixes some of the lag problems, specifcally with the task switcher button.

I use the chrome browser, but the stock browser is pretty good too.

The only thing I don't like about this phone is that it can become a little laggy or slow to act especially when you start to get a few different tasks going. The processor definitely needs to be faster and android still needs to be optimized. I feel like some lag is always going to be in android, but there are definitely faster phones out there. I think the phone lags also because of the high resolution. I've owned a lot of android phones as you can see from my sig, and to be completely honest, the gnex is the laggiest, tied with maybe the captivate, only because the captivate had lag issues with its memory system.

I dunno. After installing Liquidsmooth's ROM on it, its honestly got to be one of the smoothest Android phones I've used. It rarely hesitates. And considering it can emulate an N64 (which is a VERY CPU intensive task) and run GTA 3 on the highest settings, I highly doubt its a speed CPU issue.

I find the browser very capable. I do a lot of browsing on it, including vbulletin ones like this, and that includes moderating in the mods control panel.
I don't use apps like tapatalk.
One small annoyance is I can't find a way to NOT load the mobile version of some sites, like facebook etc, so for those I use Dolphin browser, which you can set the user agent to desktop. I use the facebook app sometimes but prefer the desktop browsing experience.

Typing (into a box exactly like this one) is not so good experience in my opinion, as the cursor navigation I find to be poor.
I use Swype keyboard which is better for getting the words right, and does have cursor keys which help with edit navigation.
I miss the SHIFT key that my N900 had, that I could use with the arrow keys to select exact texts for copy/pasting (swype has buttons for those too) as I find I am back to the two hopeless to drive blue cursor marker things.

Negatives aside, it's the best phone I had to date, the N900 before it was best to date before it.

No, the stock browser is even easier. That's one of my fav features. Turn on quick task controls under "Labs" in the settings if you haven't already. Then, the third icon that pops up when you put your thumb on the side of the screen, click that. That's like a settings menu. Then there's a checkbox to request desktop version. If the mobile version is already loaded, half of the time, you can just refresh, and the other half, you'll need to remove the m. or mobile. from the domain name first.

Web browsing on Nexus is phenomenal to me. I tried stock, chrome and dolphin HD so far, and all provide very smooth scrolling, zooming and fast rendering. I think Google greatly improved stock browser from GB to ICS and it seems to run well on OMAP 4460. It's one of strong points of Nexus.

When I compared Razr, Rezound with Nexus side by side on browsing, they couldn't quite match smoothness of browsing on Nexus despite having good 4G connection. I thought HTC One X will be the first phone beating nexus on browsing, but hands-on video so far doesn't really show any better browsing performance.

1) Yes, but not on stock ROM as far as i know

2) Yes, ICS is very slim -> other phones have bloat-ware to slow them down. If you are really concerned then you can flash a new Kernel and there are stable overclocks available up to 1.4Ghz at the moment. I'm hoping they will push it higher soon though.. since the CPU is supposed to be able to clock 1.5ghz standard.. not going to go into the details of the issues at 1.5ghz!

The only lag i get is with autobrightness on, the lockscreen is unresponsive.. but 4.0.4 has reduced this problem a lot.. to the point that it might happen twice a day. Other than that Android Revolution HD 3.0.0 is a great ROM.

3) I use Chrome Beta which is awesome -> but i have used the stock browser on occasions and its great, really snappy.

4) Not really, i suppose if i was going to say anything it would probably be the Camera (even though it does compare reasonably well to the competition) its fast, and take adequate pics.. but it does leave you wanting more.

The Galaxy Nexus is going to be the best phone until the Galaxy S3 gets released.. the dev support for the Gnex is just so good. And the HTC One X and S don't seem to be able to match up to their hardware... probably Sense 4.0's fault.
