How do people get a full day of battery life??

How do people claim they get a full day of battery life while they do all the normal stuff smart phone users do? What I'm saying is some people claim they have plenty of battery left by days end. Really? Are these claims for real? I still have to charge my phone by mid day, even with my extended battery. FYI, I manually check my email, and have 4G off only when i need it. I'm an average user in every aspect of a smart phone user. Meaning I text, surf, talk and play games all at a minimum use and still I have to charge my phone half way through the day.
So I'm not complaining, just wondering how people go on for a whole day with heavy use and still have plenty of juice by the end of the day to spare.

I think the bottom line with smartphones is how much battery the screen is using. And with a 4.3" display usage is going to be high. Whenever I check what's been using the battery the display is always somewhere around 75% to 80% and cell standby a distant second at around 10%. This phone has a 4.3" SLCD display and only a 1620 mAh battery so it is not going to last long. I do believe that an amoled screen would have used less battery at the same brightness but this display is awesome. I will say that radio reception can plays a huge role in battery life and the Rez's radio is excellent. I get 3 bars at my home and 4 bars at work where I used to get 1 & 2 bars respectively from my original DInc. The way I figure it is this, phone is like a high performance car and high gas useage (battery usage) is to be expected. Get a good 2nd battery and charger and carry it in the pouch with your Beats ear buds and you will always have enough juice to get through the day..

Today, I was at 11 hours and had 45% left. On wifi the whole time (no 4G where I live), plenty of texting, music, pictures and took a little bit of video. I've found, so far in my short time with this phone, that 4G is the major offender. It eats a TON of juice. If you are away from a charger for a long period of time, ditch 4G

signal level definitely plays a factor. On days that I'm on good signal area it'll last the day from 7 AM to 8/9 PM. I have mail account pulling automatically via K9. Surfing, tapatalk, res feeds, fb and words with friends. I have phone set to auto brightness during the day and 0% at night. The extended battery give me about double the life I had w DX before.

I recently tried switching to 3G for a day and the battery savings was phenomenol. I think the phone manufacturers and carriers got all hopped up on 4G before power management could catch up; not to mention the reality that batteries will need to be larger, possibly non-removable in all smartphones until a new battery technology is developed.

Personally i recommend the extended battery. I got it at Verizon when on sale for 50% off and I can get a great day and a half on 3g with Bluetooth on for my car. I stream music from my phone on every drive and am constantly on the internet as my phone is my computer. and being in college, that says a lot. The downside to battery is cases and docks but my phone runs naked, and the thickness is something I got over in a matter of hours.

try to be on wifi as often as possible...screen brightness set to really low unless outdoors, setcpu helps a LOT, as i have my phone set to the lowest two settings from 10pm - 6am. 9times out of 10 if i am at work and feel my phone go off, ill check my email on my computer before looking at my phone to see if it is a text or not, as to not drain the battery.

yesterday after 17 hrs i was still at 57% with my extended battery and minimal use

Definitely believe we aren't seeing typical battery life being reported when people show battery life remaining after an entire day.
The Rezound battery life is extremely variable, heavily dependent on how much you use it. On light days where I mostly leave it in my pocket (still use push gmail and sync other mail 1/hour), I'll see 12-16 hrs but on heavy days where I am playing games and browsing the web a lot, I will be lucky to see 6 hours.

9-11 is pretty typical, though.

Buy lots of spare batteries. They are cheap. When your battery dies, switch to a fully charged one.

All I do is connect to wifi whenever possible, I leave everything on 4g/GPS/wifi all the time. I have 4 emails set to 15 minutes during business hours. Over the weekend I got 1 day, 18 hours with 19% left when I plugged in on the standard battery, light use. Like someone else said stop looking at your phone every 3 seconds let it sleep unless you need it or you get a notification/call. Set it to pick up and use any wifi you are around and set wifi NOT to turn off when sleeping, you would think that would save battery but it doesn't it makes your phone use 4g for anything until you turn the screen on again.

There is a very short charge in there which added maybe 5% during a quick car ride. Went from Fri night to Sunday afternoon on the standard battery. Would have gone 48 hours easy.

everyone's definition of a "full day" is different.
Everyone's definition of light/moderate/heavy use is different.

I always tell people when i'm talking about my battery usage i base it on My Usage. i don't use the words light/moderate/heavy and i don't use the words "full day" i use "# of hours"

for instance when i had the Rezound i averaged 10-15 hours based on my usage.

Battery questions are extremely vague and its really hard to nail down anything that relates to everyone.

Went in to work sunday 8am, worked till 7pm, went out to eat got home at 9:30pm my phone finally went into the red, I even road to and from work listening to music! I have my email set to manually sync, no facebook just a lot of texting and calling in to the carrier's to trouble shoot my customers phones. I LOVE THIS PHONE AND IT'S BATTERY LIFE!:D

I don't live in a 4G area... the battery life on wifi / 3g is great! I have my screen brightness turned UP because BEAUTIFUL SCREEN!

Since I'm diverting power to the main (deflector) screen :D I have turned other options down: there is no reason to have the weather app updating every 30 minutes, my life is not so complicated that I have to ping for email every 12 seconds... that sort of thing.

As an extra benefit, I get to run Live Wallpapers (Blue Sky by Kittahface is bloody AMAZING looking)...

I get 15 hours of USAGE on stock battery and no root -- calls, emails, texts -- I predominately on wifi... days that are 3g only give me 11-ish hours.

These things work for me -- your mileage may vary.

I bought an extended battery. I routinely get a day and a half, maybe even two days without recharging.

I don't do anything special, other than run Easy Task Killer. I also use the shit out my phone pretty much all day. GPS, AutoSync 4G, email, maps etc.

Skype is great, but I left it on in the morning once and my battery was DEAD by noon. I have no idea what skype is doing, but whatever it is sucks the battery dry.

I have followed your instructions and have noticed a MAJOR increase in battery. Juice Defender is a must have. I thought wi-fi would use just as much battery as 4G but boy am I wrong.

Other than the screen 4g is the biggest power hog on your phone. I don't think wifi even uses half the power, 3g is also good idk if it beats wifi or not, I would say probaly not, your router is maybe 50 feet away, the tower could be 5000 feet away.
