I am running MikG 2.5.1 I think on my 4G. A couple of weeks ago my card failed and I lost all the apps on my card. I bought a new Sandisk 32 gig card (an American one) I saw that S- is still off.
I want to install MikG 3.11 and the 3.11 update.
That software says it will wipe all data.
How should I proceed to install the new card and install the new rom?

If you plan on partitioning the card do that first.
Place the ROM on the SD card. Create a nandroid/backup whatever you want in TB

Flash

(You dont need to install 3.11 and the 3.11 update. Just do the 3.11 full wipe ROM and FULLY WIPE before flashing)

The phone partitions the card automatically, right? You just tell it to partition and it chooses the size of the partition automatically.
I think you are telling me to partition the card place the rom in the root and run it. Then do a nandroid backup. Right?

no you have to tell how big the partition you want. just follow the guide that rxpert linked. it has detailed instructions as to how to partition your card.

I saw a file called MikG-v3.11 signed 242mb then there is a file MikG-v3.11 Update-Signed 83.7 mb. The second is apparently an update for the first .

Ok I Did a nandroid of the old card and the rest of the phone. I removed that card, and replaced it with the new card, then partitioned the new card according to rooting for dummies.

I'm using supersonic evt3 right now.
Then do I wipe the card again and put he rom file in the root and unzip it?

MikG v3.11 [3/9/2012]

Now do I need to flash a recovery? like amon ra 2.3 I'm using supersonic evt3 right now.
Then do I wipe the card again and put he rom file in the root and unzip it?

that is not your recovery. that is just from your bootloader telling you what device you have. when you select recovery on the bootloader screen at the bottom of that menu will tell you what recovery you have. it should say RA supersonic 2.3 if you have amon ra2.3

also never unzip any file unless told to do so. keep everything zipped up when you are going to flash a file.

and there is no need to wipe the card as that is what partitioning does. it formats it first and thus wiping the card before it can partition it.

once you have your apps on your card the next thing that you will need to add when doing your wipes is to wipe sd ext before flashing any new roms.
