Hello everyone, new to this forum.

I read that this Samsung Galaxy is already available on Germany. Does anyone know a webshop which sells these and would send the phone to abroad (Finland)?

We won't be getting this phone until couple of months and I would need a new phone now. The Hero will be available in couple of weeks, but it's memory is so small (512megs) so it doesn't really suit me.

Appreciate any help

I don't know of any that would do this. I think you need to get hold of a friend (or willing forum member??) in a country that sells them.

But -- I would ask that you edit your first post, and add a question mark to the title -- as it is, it looks exactly like an announcement that you found a place that does this. Thank you.

I live in Sweden, and ordered the Galaxy from Handyzek.de - hier finden Sie ihr Handy! Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Palm, HTC with 100% success :)

They received the payment July 22 and I had the phone in my hands July 27.
They had absolutely no problem with shipping outside of Germany.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to check that out at home.

Do you know how the warranty is handled? Do I need to send the phone back to Germany or is atleast covered within EU, so all i would have to do is to bring the phone to local Samsung dealership/repair shop?

Oh, a fellow Finnish android enthusiast. :) My friend who works for the importer said they're propably gonna recive some information about this phone at monday. So if possible, I would recommend waiting for 4 days. Pysy siis housuissas. ;)

If I get (/or dont get) some info at monday, I'll post it here asap. I want this phone quite badly as well

Hi guys, I have two questions bugging me.

1. Inf: how do you know when the phone is to be released in Finland? Is there a list or something for this? I live in Bulgaria, and I wish I knew when the phone is coming here - so that I could decide whether to wait or order it from abroad.

2. The site mentioned here - handyzek.de does not ship to Bulgaria, so I will appreciate suggestions for other online shops, no matter the country it resides in.

I'm tired of waiting for this phone to appear in the UK. In addition to the rumoured UK price its worth me buying it in Germany and getting it shipped. One thing to check first, can you change the language settings to English? I was looking at the HTC Hero that was released here and English is the only option. I hope German isn't the only language option for phone sold there. Any info will be very much appreciated!

I ordered mine from sotel.de - It shipped saturday, so i'll let you know if/when it arrives!

Misco also sell them and deliver to other parts of europe.

Photon00: I made sure to get the unbranded (and of course non simlocked one). But even if it has branding you can probably reflash it to remove that. All phones have european languages and grab the id from the SIM, so don't worry about language preference.

On a side note.. I have a HTC hero I received as an upgrade on my current operator, and in 'system monitor' it shows total memory 192mb. People are reporting the samsung galaxy reports the same. So I think they actually have the same ammount of memory, and the 288mb vs 192mb reports are just confusion about what is available to applications and not used by android itself.

It's not even simlocked at o2 shops and has all languages available standard

Bought it at o2 and the language was in English so ;)

I'll copy my reply here for anyone wanting to order from germany:

I ordered from www.sotel.de - It looks like a small shop. They used GLS postal service, but inside the EU that's fine because there's no holdup with VAT etc. Also they shipped right away (well I hit the weekend, but as fast as they could i guess). - It hasnt arrived yet, tracking says picked up.

www.Handyzek.de: are a waste of time, they won't have them for a week or so, and its the O2 branded one.

www.es-mobilfunk.de: they want bank transfer and won't take credit card (bad idea because you'll have no protection!), but they ship UPS

www.telefon.de: They don't have unlocked ones

www.Misco.de replied to me after I had already placed the order:

Teh shipping cost would be by 15,00€ and packaging cost 2,69€.

The item will be shipped by German Parcel Service.

You can pay by credit card.

according to sotel, they only have the branded phone in stock. So the site is not interesting at all.

Does anyone have a site where you can buy the NON-branded phone?

kam187: Thanks a lot for the language confirmation. sotel.de looks like a good option. dreamer81 believes your phone will be branded. I'd be interested to know if it is when you get it.

pixmania.de looks like another interesting option. I just have to confirm the phone is unlocked (it appears to be) and is unbranded.

I'm hoping it should be here tommorow. Its not suposed to be branded, but even if it is I can just flash it to the normal flash.

I think that site is actually using 'http://www.mobilejoker.de/'
I emailed them (mobilejoker.de) a couple of times asking if they ship to the UK but they never replied to me.

Personally if i hadnt already put the order in with sotel I would normally have used Misco. They're a pretty big company and I use them alot in the UK.

EDIT: Just to confirm, even the branded phones, the box isnt branded and neither is the physical phone, only the software is. It has an extra O2 flyer in it and O2 branded software on the phone. But you can install the generic firmware upgrade to get a non branded phone.

You can only order from Pixmania.de if you have a delivery address in Germany. At least that's how it was when I worked there.

I have ordered the Galaxy from Entyle.de - the reason being that I can pay with cash on delivery. I will never use PayPal as I have experienced problems with that company in the past. Anyway, ordered the phone last night and they just emailed me saying that it's packed and ready to go.
