PC World has an article listing their 10 top iPhone annoyances. The list makes me appreciate Android all the more as really only one of these problems exist on Android. Regarding #9 - remote wipe when lost, I wonder if logging in to Gmail and changing my password would/could isolate and protect my contact data with Android?

Thanks for the tip on remote wipe for Android. Actually #7 related to battery life was the issue I was thinking we shared with the iPhone.

LOL on that note ... we can at least easily change our battery ...

I use a double thickness one ... cause i dont care that the phone is thicker and bulges in my pocket ... when i try to set ...it reminds me it is there ... so I take it out and hold it or set it on the table ... where my iphone friends can drewl (secretly) but smirk (fakers that the are) on the surface

It is probably one of the cooler apps I have seen. It basically allows blackberry enterprise server control of your Android phone remotely. Wiping, locking, pinging and finding via gps, etc.

It does not offer the corporate control of say blocking certain websites or app downloads. I'm sure a smart hacker could get past some of this, but if I could wipe my device I'm happy. (this is and remote backup is coming, my guess as a pay to use service)

Let me know after you try it...does it work with your rooted phone? I would think so.

One issue I noticed, when you "lock" the phone it requires you to go into the settings to deal with the lock settings. (I normally don't use the lock feature.) But since I don't mobile defense unless I need it, it is a small price to pay.

As for the original topic...3,5,7,8 all bug me about the Android. Are they top of my list? Maybe..I never thought about it.

Just conducted a test by changing my Gmail password to see how it effected my G1. Within one minute an Exclamation mark symbol appeared on the top window-shade to indicate a sync problem related to account/password.

Contacts were stored locally and remained visible. Likewise my e-mail cache on the device remained visible. I was able to send an e-mail within the first minute. Calendar information was not displayed and resulted in an error. Seems like an elegant solution for Google to have a future version of Android lock down the data features when the Gmail password is changed remotely.
