ROFL! Palm down 27%. I always thought the Pre/Pixi were dead men walking.

Android is the future! :D

I feel bad about Palm. To me the Pre was too little too late. They could have filled the void created by the Windows Mobile system (or lack thereof), with the Pre, had they come out with their product closer to the time that saaay the HTC Touch came out. They failed and I don't know if they are going to rebound. It's too bad, because the WebOS is really kinda nice. It's just not nice enough to make me get it. After all, if the Pre Plus is a phone that is just good enough for my wife (according to the VZW commericial) then it is way too lightweight for me! ;)

WebOS is actually a nice piece of software. It's very intuitive and user friendly. The multi-tasking and ability to visually see all of the programs that are open is well implemented. Unfortunately Palm chose less than stellar hardware for it making it creaky and laggy. A company with a nice bankroll (hint hint Google) could do some damage and become a major player with the simplicity of that software.

In this market (IMHO) companies do themselves a disservice by not licensing their software to hardware vendors the way Google and MinMo do.

I agree totally.

Indeed. Thinking back to my Treo days, even then the OS seemed ok, but the hardware was just brutal. I had one of the ORIGINAL Palm Pilots, so I'm not anti-Palm, I've just been wondering how long they can keep going, only getting half the job done.

whether the red accents are gone or not, the phone design looks dated. Idk maybe theyll do what they did with the desire and itll look better. Its not sleek (at least not to me) in comparable to the N1 or the Desire.
Like I've said lol since we haven't seen how the final finished phone looks like your basing your opinion on what is most likely a prototype early model of the phone that may not even look like that once it's released.

And given that the Nexus One should be out by the end of the month and you need a phone by then I guess you'll be getting the phone you really want anyhow.

without reading thru the last bunch of pages ... has there been any updated news (actually, rumor) of release date?
(cuz i'm probably going to vzw tonight and picking up a droid. i've been waiting MONTHS for an updated HTC product to hit vzw)

thanks in advance!
Nope nothing new apart from the wait for CTIA(March 23rd) and the rumor that the Eris is going to be discontinued on April 1st and replaced with the Incredible soon after.

Just a thought, but is it possible that we could see the Incredible take the same look aesthetically as the N1 and the Desire? Kind of like a trifecta of phones with the same aesthetic look but different bells and whistles?

i def think it will.

everybody's so back and forth about the red.
think about it people - really? a half red half black phone? I can't think of HTC ever making a phone that wasn't slick and aesetically pleasing. in my opinion there is NO way that the finished product would be red/black. look at the desire... and the legend, the nexus and the eris too. even my old xv6900. Really think the rest of the world gets the desire and we get a half black/half red shiny plastic looking phone? Not gonna happen.
