Alright, so about three or four weeks ago, I rooted my Lg esteem, with the one click root. I didn't have a single problem with it. But these past three days, I haven't been getting any of my text messages, at all. Previous to this, I installed Rom manager, and ClockworkMod Recovery, I didn't use any Rom's, but I did backup my own.
Like I said, lately I have been having texting problems, so today I went and did a factory reset, I thought that was going to be the end of that, but it wasn't.
Since I had clockworkmod recovery, it started up, and gave me some options, so I clicked Backup and Restore, from there, I hit advanced restore from internal sdcard. I then clicked my Rom. It gave me options.
-restore boot
-restore system
-restore adta
-restore cache
-restore sd text.
I clicked restore system, and it said it was downloading all the crap, and what not, and restoring it. As soon as it was finished, it returned to the same menu. It said it was finished loading the Rom, but yet it stayed on the menu, so I clicked restore Boot, and it did the same thing, I've tried countless times and nothing has happened. If i restart my phone, it goes to the menu.
If i click "Reboot system now" it stays on the menu
If I take out the battery, the same thing.
I'm stuck, and I really need help. Please and thanks.

Correct, if you just want to restore the WHOLE device to a previous date then just click Restore or Restore From Internal SD Card. If you want to just restore a PART of your system to a previous date then you use Advanced Restore(i.e. If I Make A Backup Of Broken Out ROM and then Install Black Plague Then I Do Not Have ANY Of My Personal Data Or Apps Any Longer, If I Want Them Back Immediately Instead Of Reinstalling 1 by 1; Then I Use Advanced Restore And Restore The Data From The Broken Out ROM). Anyways, yes, with this problem you will want to go ahead and do a FULL Restore instead of just restoring certain things to ensure A. It Goes Away and B. To Ensure This Does Not Happen Again Unless Your Backup Has This Problem That Is Waiting To Happen OR You Make The Same Mistake Again that made this happen in the first place. This infromation here(^) will only fix your problem of the texting issue.

THIS information will get you out of CWM.
Now, PNut, you ALWAYS give these people the ExitRecovery file to get out of CWM. LoL he said that if he restarts his phone it goes straight to CWM. What he needs to do is flash that ZIP. If it was due to a ROM error then he would not be going straight to CWM, his phone would skip CWM and start looking for a Boot Animation and not find onoe so would continue looking for one basically. Anyways, with his device booting into CWM every time he needs the ExitRecovery.ZIP and put it onto his/an External SD Card and install it within CWM recovery. I will tell PNut to post the link to this right now as I dont feel like searching for it or uploading it to DB. LoL sorry. This will solve your problems.

If you still have problems after this step then your device WILL need a new Restore or ROM installed. Booting straight into CWM does not confirm a corrupt ROM installed though. You may still have a corrupt ROM but we dont know yet. Do this and report back IMMEDIATELY and we will help.

Sorry, PNut, I see that this post may have come off as rude but what I meant was ugh, when they dont need it you give it HaHa but when they do sometimes you dont HaHa. I still love yas though!

One more thing, when you say that you Reboot System Now and it statys on the same CWM menu, this is impossible unless you have a faulty power button. I dont believe this is true, either A. You TRULY Mean That It Reboots And Then SHOWS The Same Menu After Reboot or B. It Technically DOES Stay On This Screen But Everything Except For The Background Disappears. If everything except for the background disappears then you have the Back Button Disabled which is done when you navigate from Top Choice straight to Bottom Choice and back to Top Choice(Vol. Up, Vol. Down, Vol. Up starting at Top Choice In Whatever Menu You Are Currently In) without pressing any other buttons or from Bottom Choice to Top Choice(Vol. Down, Vol. Up, Vol. Down starting at Bottom Choice In Whatever Menu You Are Currently In). Want to make sure we are the same page.

My mistake, you're right, when I reboot it, it turns off and then it goes back to the cwm menu. Anyways, you said something about a exitrecovery.zip. where can I download this at? And I'm quite confused, how do I download it to the sd vard, if my phone won't turn on? Anyways, @pnut, the stemps you prompted me to do didn't work. To be honest, I don't mind if I lose everything, or if I get my rom back. At this point, I just want to be able to turn my phone back on and text.
Thank you guys for your time and effort, I appreciate it.

And what I mean by using an SD Card is IF you have an External SD Card then you are ALL set. If not then you need to get one at least for about 5 minutes. Download this ExitRecovery.ZIP then put it onto the External SD Card somehow, then put the External SD Card into your phone, install the ExitRecovery.ZIP through CWM. Then once all up and running you need to put the ExitRecovery.ZIP onto the Internal memory of your phone before giving the External SD Card back so you have it forever.

Sorry, I'm still a bit confused about all of this. Alright, I'm on my computer, and have my phone plugged into the computer as well.
Once I click the link, it allows me to download it. When I click download, after it's finished, what do I do with the folder?

Alright, as of now, my computer won't recognize the Phone. When i plug it in, and the pop up appears to prompt me to install the software, I click it, after that, it says that the install wizard couldn't download the files and what not.
So, now I have no working phone, and it can't be detected by my computer.. Help?

Sorry, like I said, it's really aggravating me.
But the thing is, I can't get my computer to recognize my Phone on the computer, I used my laptop, and I had no luck with that one either. I took out the SD card, and put it an adapter, later to find out, I can't put the adapter in the laptop, because it doesn't have a slot for it.
So all in all, I'm pretty screwed,

Whenever I download it, and click choose zip from sdcard I clicked the file I saved it under, and it shows exitrecovery/
When I click that it shows two seperate folders.
META-INF/
And tmp/
Soo, I click tmp/ and it says no files found.
When i click Meta-inf/ it takes me through several more things, and once again, says no files found.
Is their anything I'm doing wrong?

no no don't extracted it , once finished DL just drag the whole file to ur SD without extracting. then u flash it

if ur DL from ur phone once finished DL don't open it just close if then boot into recovery and flash it choose zip from SD card then go to choose from internal thenbgo to downloads and it there now just flash it

lol o mann... yeah when you download that file it is in .zip format, keep it that way and copy it to the ROOT of your SD card

ALSO COPY A FRESH NEW ROM TO INSTALL,

then put ur sd in your device,

boot it up and go to flash zip menu list and select that .zip file.

flash it then power off,

now manually boot to recovery
(hold volume +&- then press power, wait for screen then release volume buttons, then press power twice in a slow pace)

now wipe EVERYTHING!!!! than flash rom :D

EDIT: oops i was too late!! lolol
