Atlanta, what
Great, good, bad, and terrible beers. Suggestions to try and suggestions to try to avoid. Come one come all: let's hear it for beer.
Stories involving beer? Sure!

Please..at a minimum, try to include:
Name:
Style:
Cost:
Along with anything else you might like to mention.

EX:
Dogfish head 60 or 90 minute
India pale ale
About $9 for 6 pack
One of the best beers around. I asked my 4th wife to marry me while drinking this beer.

OR

Big Flats (Walgreen's Pharmacy brand...no joke)
pilsner?..or something
$2.99 for a 6 pack
Cheaper than water. Cheaper than gas. Just cheap...and kinda gross. Really gross. Maybe use it to batter fish or onion rings...

So: without further ado...BEER

Name: Beer - seriously, gold can w/ the word beer down the side in white like you used to see on Married With Children
Style: yeast urine
Cost: $3.99 / case (early 90s)

When I was in the Army I went to an off base party and this is what the host served (after the glass of clear stuff he told me not to spill on the grass because it would kill it).:D

Uh oh, this is a bad thread for me to step into. I used to be a fanatic at Beer Advocate. I'm a huge beer geek and a certified beer judge (BJCP).
Favorite brewery would probably be Jolly Pumpkin. They open ferment and barrel age all their beers making them a touch sour. One of the most accessible of theirs is La Roja. It's an amber Belgian style. Cost will run you ~$10 per bottle, it's a 750mL. Love it.

Oh, do I love beer. The only beers I drink lately are from a local brewing company, they're called Epic brewing and I absolutely love their beers.

My personal favorite is called Brainless on Peaches.
Style: Brainless Belgian Ale with added peach purree, aged in chardonnay barrels. It has hints of cinnamon and each batch is slightly different. With each batch they only make 800 bottles, so you always get a slightly different beer per batch.
Cost: $11 per 22 ounce bottle.

Checking out Epics' beers. They look like a great brewery, really funky stuff. Glad Utah's beer scene is growing. We had some at the airport when we were there, good but oh so low in abv.
Awesome, just saw Epic did a collaboration with DC Brau! We love their beers here.

It's pretty horrible here, any beer you buy in the grocery store is only 3.2% it's ridiculous, you have to go to a state owned liquor or wine store to get any of the good stuff. I love Epic's beers. All of their beers range from 5-14% ABV. They also have an Imperial IPA that I absolutely love.

There's nothing better than a good local brewery. :)

For mass produced, I like Stella, Yuengling, or just straight Budweiser.

For local, when my grandmother died and I was in their hometown, we stopped at a Microbrewery, called the Brauhouse (Lucan, MN). They had an awesome Cream Stout called Moo Juice. Their Lager (my staple) was quite tasty too.

In Savannah, Moon River Brewery has lots of tasty choices. For those who like Cider, they have one on tap that is the best I have ever had.

Humm....

My favorite is probably Red Hook...

First time I had it, I was on a business trip and went on a tour of the Red Hook brewery.

The original is currently a bit hard to find where I live, but I can get the Red Hook Long Hammer IPA, which is good too.

As for an everyday bear, I have to admit I drink Miller Lite.

Lets hear it then, dread: Give us the goods. I really really love good beer and am always looking for something new (the same issue I have with ROMs....) What do you recommend for a really good beer for someone on a budget (around $10 for a 6 pack?)..also, is Budweiser really the king of beers? :D

I have noticed that different brands of beer hit me a little different. Corona is great but I stick with labatts blue becuase it's consistent on how it hits me! lol

Beers like Budweiser bring me up too fast, then when I stop drinking I crash. Labatts doesn't do that to me.
I can get a 12 pack for about 11 bucks. :)

Does Labatts still make their Ice beer? That's was a staple for me years ago until it fell off the State allowed list or was discontinued. Never knew for certain... just was no longer available here in doodah.

I wasn't aware they made ice beer. :) I don't recall seeing it anywhere, but I usually just go into the store and get what I want and not stick around to browse. :)
